John Stamos Battled Addiction for Years But Now He Is a Devoted Husband to Caitlin McHugh & Father of 3-Year-Old Son Billy
Film producer, and actor, John Stamos struggled with addiction for several years. However, the star is sober now and is a committed and loving husband to his wife, Caitlin McHugh, and their 3-year-old adorable son Billy.
After battling addiction for several years, John Stamos is thankful for being sober. The star is happy being a family man as he enjoys all the blissful moments he spends with his wife, Caitlin McHugh, and their son William (Billy) Christopher Stamos.
In an interview with People Magazine, John opened up about his lovely son and wife, an actress. The "Full House" star mentioned how his life has changed since he met McHugh.

JOHN'S TIME WITH HIS BEAUTIFUL FAMILY
For the actor, every little moment spent with his family is sure extraordinary. Still speaking about his son, John revealed that the toddler always walked into his room after their coffee section and searched the drawer for goodies.
[John] revealed that [Jodie Sweetin] helped him become sober after his alcohol addiction made him hit rock bottom.
John called his son "King Stamo" and stated that the boy "ruled." John, who once yearned for a family and thought he would never meet the right partner, is grateful he met McHugh. The actor noted that she strengthened him. He said:
"I wasn't deserving of it yet I think. But six years ago, I sobered up and I became a better person. And when Caitlin came around, I recognized it immediately..."
Amidst all the hard work and stress of parenting a 3-year-old, the loving couple has kept the marriage strong. This they have done through good communication and dinner dates.
JOHN AND MCHUGH'S SWEET LOVE STORY
John, 57, first met McHugh, 35, while working on an episode of "Law & Order: SVU" back in 2011. The two crossed paths again while McHugh's roommate appeared on an episode of "Fuller House" and, that was when the flames ignited.
They officially started dating in 2015, and after about two years, John proposed to McHugh in Disneyland, her favorite place. And a little over a month, the couple revealed that a baby was on the way.
They tied the knot in February 2018 and welcomed their son a few months after. He commemorated his son's birth with a sweet social media share that showed him cradling little Billy, named after John's father.
OVERCOMING ADDICTION
John has a special place in his heart for "Fuller House" co-cast, Jodie Sweetin. He revealed that she helped him become sober after his alcohol addiction made him hit rock bottom.
He became emotional about his past addiction while presenting Sweetin with Writers in Treatment's Experience, Strength and Hope Award for her memoir "unSweetined" in 2009 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
The actor noted that she was always by his side during his most challenging times, rendering all her support. John revealed that Sweetin arranged a 12-step meeting at his house and on the set of "Fuller House."
He is thankful for Sweetin's help because now his wife and sons would only get to see the sober part of him. After he opened up to Sweetin about his addiction issues, he noted that she imminently took action, and her wisdom helped him.
