Safaree Gets Dragged over 'Fake Tears' after Admitting He Feared He Couldn't See His Kids Anymore in Video
Safaree got emotional while talking to his lawyer about his kids in a new "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" video, but fans were not convinced and bared their minds on his tears.
American rapper and reality television star Safaree Samuels' relationship with Erica Mena has been in the spotlight recently as they navigate several challenges facing them.
Safaree and Mena got engaged on Christmas Eve 2018 and secretly married on September 16, 2019, before officially tying the knot on October 7, 2019. They welcomed their first child and daughter, Safire Majesty Samuels.

However, the couple has been plagued with relationship troubles that came to the fore after Mena, pregnant with her and Safaree's second child, filed for divorce.
ET reported that Mena filed for divorce on May 21 in Fayette County Superior Court in Georgia. Court documents from the divorce filing revealed the couple was living in a "bona fide state of separation."
In her divorce filing, Mena requested joint legal custody, final decision-making authority, and primary physical custody of Safire on a temporary and permanent basis. Mena and Safaree have parenting time as determined by their daughter's best interests.

Mena also sought child support, permanent exclusive use of their marital residence, and Safaree to pay her attorney's fees. She also wants a divorce because their marriage is irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.
Safaree reacted to Mena's divorce filing by making a filing of his own. In his filing, he denied his estranged wife's request for primary physical custody of their kids, adding that he favored joint custody.
In June, Mena put Safaree on blast by claiming he was stressing her and complicating her pregnancy. She said her estranged husband had failed to be involved in her care or visit her at the hospital despite remaining there for many days due to pregnancy-related issues.
Mena also reacted to Safaree's quest for shared custody of their children, saying he only did so to obtain good publicity and paint her as the instigator when in actuality, she was the only one ensuring their children's best interests and safety.
A month after Mena filed for divorce, she and Safaree welcomed their second child, a son. Safaree announced his son's birth on Instagram by sharing a picture of the baby wrapped in a hospital blanket and another snap of his newborn son holding his finger.
Safaree said he does not want to beg to see his kids and does not want a spiteful divorce.
In August, Safaree responded to accusations that he was a deadbeat dad by saying he was sick of the fake narratives against him.
He asked people not to act like he was not with his kids because they could not see. The rapper said his children live in a mansion because of him, and he is with them every time. He added:
"I don't need or want sympathy from anybody but b4 you wonder about how my relationship with my kids are just know they are on their way to a great childhood."

Now, following the release of a new teaser video for a recent "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" episode, fans have come for Safaree again. On Tuesday, the reality television series' official Instagram page shared a video showing Safaree's visit to his lawyer.
During his confessional, he detailed how he went to see Mena at the hospital to see how she was doing, but she kept talking and accusing him of other things that did not have to do with her health or their baby.

Hence, since she already blindsided him with her file for divorce, he could not afford to be blindsided again and had to take steps to protect himself.
He said he feels the respect Mena has for him is gone. Safaree explained that he does not care how wrong someone is but that certain levels should not be crossed, and when such levels are crossed, it is hard to come back from them.
He said he did not talk to Mena about the divorce filing during his visit but just wanted to ensure there would be no problem with his having access to his kids.

When Safaree's lawyer asked him what type of visitation plan he wanted to have with his kids, he said he thought it should be an even spread and became emotional afterward.
He said he did not know how things would play out because most judges do not give men the benefit of the doubt in cases like his. However, his lawyer assured him of his rights.

The rapper cried as he described his daughter as a happy baby, to which his lawyer asked him to ensure she remained a happy baby. Safaree said he does not want to beg to see his kids and does not want a spiteful divorce in his confessional.
Despite the rapper's outpour of emotions, some fans were less than convinced by his actions. One fan accused him of shedding fake tears. Another fan shared similar sentiments, saying Safaree could not even cry real tears.
A third fan said Safaree was playing the victim. The fan said they used to like Safaree so much but that he is totally wrong in this case. One fan wondered why Safaree acted like Mena's filing was such a blindside that he did not call her his worst mistake.
Time will tell how Safaree and Mena's divorce plays out, but hope remains that whatever happens between them will not negatively affect their precious kids.
