Can a baby bump cause conflict between a couple? Yes, it can! Some women don't like it when their husbands touch their pregnant bellies because it makes them feel uncomfortable. They also don't like it when strangers do the same.

After buying an at-home pregnancy testing kit, most women anticipate seeing two lines on the strip. These lines don't necessarily mean a woman is pregnant. Bloodwork is needed to verify the positive results. When a woman receives the good news, she smiles on the outside but is scared thinking about the future.

Pregnancy makes a woman's body change tremendously. The baby bump makes her look like a whole new person. Seeing herself in the mirror and looking at those stretch marks makes her realize how her body has changed through the nine months.

It isn't easy for pregnant women to accept their bodies, but they do so for the sake of their children. They go through a variety of emotions and also feel stressed sometimes. People need to be cautious when dealing with pregnant women because they have the worst mood swings.

WOMAN BANNED HER HUSBAND FROM TOUCHING HER BABY BUMP

Have you ever heard of women not allowing their husbands to touch their pregnant bellies? A lady on Reddit opened up about banning her husband from touching her belly because she felt he wasn't paying attention to her anymore. She narrated an incident that made her blow up at her husband.

After returning from work, he started talking to the baby bump and made the Redditor stand for almost half an hour. He didn't even say a word to her and kept caressing her belly, which made her lose her cool. The man said he wasn't ignoring her. He was only trying to bond with the baby.

The Redditor asked other users if she was overreacting, and they said her husband was acting weird. They asked her to set a boundary and talk to him about how uncomfortable it makes her feel. They also suggested that he could speak to the baby when she's on the bed and not standing because that wouldn't tire her.

I DON'T WANT MY HUSBAND TO TOUCH MY BELLY

Another woman on Reddit shared that she doesn't like it when her husband touches her baby bump. She mentioned that this was her fourth pregnancy, and she has children who need hugs and kisses from her. She doesn't want anyone else to touch her after she physically interacts with her children.

On the other hand, her husband likes touching her belly after coming home from work because he wants to bond with the child. She isn't comfortable with that because it makes her feel like she's just there to give birth to babies and isn't important for her husband anymore.

Watching her husband spend more time kissing her belly instead of her makes her feel worthless. Her husband got offended when she told her about her feelings. He thinks she isn't allowing him to bond with his unborn child. It seems like this lady isn't the only one who feels like this.

Not wanting your husband to touch your pregnant belly is a real thing. nomoretouch posted on Reddit that she yelled at her husband after he touched her belly. She shared that she was pregnant with twins, and watching her body grow big worries her.

She also looks after her three-year-old child, who needs hugs, so she doesn't like being touched by her husband after that. She set a rule that her husband should ask her before touching her belly, but he didn't follow it, making the Redditor lose her cool. She yelled at her husband, and her friends made her feel like she was at fault.

IS IT OK TO TOUCH A PREGNANT WOMAN'S BELLY?

No, it's not OK! Touching someone's belly, especially when you don't know them isn't a good idea. Your touch may cause an emotional reaction that you won't be ready to deal with. Moreover, touching someone's body without their consent is not acceptable.

Would you touch some random woman's belly if she wasn't pregnant? No, right? So, why do people want to feel the baby's movement by touching a woman's stomach when they know the baby is in the uterus? Pregnant women get uncomfortable when people at the grocery store touch their bellies after talking to them for a minute.

Like other social movements, there is a need for an awareness campaign that educates people not to touch a pregnant woman's belly. It's important because most people feel that it's their right to touch and see how a swelled belly feels without asking the person who owns that piece of flesh.

WHY YOU SHOULDN'T TOUCH SOMEONE'S BABY BUMP

Thinking about it from another perspective might stop people from touching pregnant women's bellies. Their harmless touch can make the mother or baby fall sick. Touching someone's skin with unsanitized hands isn't the best thing to do these days.

Most pregnant women want to hide somewhere so the world can't see how big their bodies have become, and when someone touches their belly in the supermarket, they are all set to lose their cool. The last thing they want is a stranger to come up to caress their stomach with their hands.

Another reason why touching a woman's baby bump is not OK is because the touch might cause a mental breakdown. It's not nice to assume that all pregnant women are free of mental problems. Some might be going through a severe mental phase, and touching them without consent might cause them to react unexpectedly.

People need to understand that pregnant women are also human, just like everyone else, so they should seek consent before touching their baby bump. Having a baby inside their body isn't an invitation for people to touch them. It seems like pregnant women need to stand up and initiate an awareness campaign on this topic.

Do you seek permission before touching women's baby bumps? Or did someone touch your pregnant belly without consent? Let us know your experiences through the comments. We'd love to see what you think about this topic.
