Yulia Gorina was only four years old when she lost contact with her biological family. Years ago, she mysteriously vanished from a train in 1999 in her dad's company while their train was between Minsk and Asipovichy, Belarus.

Her father, Viktor Moiseenko, had taken a short nap on the train, but he was shocked to have his toddler missing when he woke up. He and his wife kept searching for their missing daughter for several years, hoping to be reconnected someday.

Gorina eventually crossed the Belarus-Russia border and was discovered near rail lines in Ryazan, western Russia, about 550 miles from where she had mysteriously vanished and where she now presently lives.

Her parents sought for her anxiously and became the focus of a police inquiry. When the investigation was revived in 2017, they were forced to take lie detector tests as they were suspected of murdering their little girl or being aware of her disappearance.

Things recently changed for the family as fate smiled on them after years of heartache. Gorina's boyfriend, Ilya Kryukov, 31, heard the story of his girlfriend's separation from her real family and decided to help trigger a reunion.

He hunted down the Moiseenko family online and used a DNA test to prove that his new girlfriend is the daughter of Viktor and Lyudmila Moiseenko.

Before the DNA result, Gorina felt she had found her family after seeing photographs of them; she felt they were similar in several ways. The DNA result only affirmed her hopes of finding her family at last.

The 24-year-old was reunited with her parents, who are now in their 50s, and with her siblings. The family was reportedly in tears when they united, and everyone was shocked by the event.

Gorina, now a mother, finds it difficult to recollect the three weeks between getting lost on the train and being discovered by a Russian police officer; however, she recalls traveling with a man and woman who were evading the police.

She also does not recall how she went missing from the train or how she arrived in Russia; however, she feels those who found her wandering should have alerted authorities of her disappearance, but no one seemed to care.

On seeing his daughter, Gorina's father begged her for forgiveness, citing that he had never stopped looking for her. For her mother, losing her child for 20 years felt like an eternity but being reconnected was more than she could ask for.
