Marisa Ramirez was not trying for a baby when she learned she was expecting and admitted her pregnancy came as a "complete surprise." The actress recently celebrated her daughter's birthday and revealed that the 7-year-old teaches her "so much" daily.

Marisa Ramirez is commonly known for her role as Maria Baez in the popular series, "Blue Bloods." However, the actress's personal life made headlines in 2016 when she revealed she was expecting her first baby.

Marisa Ramirez has not welcomed any more children since but proved she has had her hands full with her little "monster," Violet Rae, who often appears on her mother's social media.

In January 2016, Marisa's representatives broke the news that the then-38-year-old was pregnant. "This was a complete surprise. Some mornings, I wake up and forget I'm pregnant! It just seems like it was meant to be — a happy surprise," the actress added.

Her bundle of joy was later born on May 29, and the "Blue Bloods" star tweeted how happy and healthy her newborn was and how in love she was. Marisa's daughter is now all grown up, and in honor of her 7th birthday this year, her famous mother turned to Instagram to post a picture of Violet holding a snake and shared:

"Happy 7th Birthday!!! My brave, sweet, compassionate little monster. We learn so much from you every day. Thank you to Noah at @seaquestvegas We had the best time!!! No we are definitely not getting one of these as a present!"

Marisa's daughter has been a regular on her mother's Instagram account. In May 2018, the actress shared an adorable snap of her and her daughter, and a few months later, Marisa shared a hilarious picture of Violet with her face pressed against a piece of glass.

"Hope they cleaned the glass," the actress joked in the caption. In January 2019, Violet posed for the camera with Marisa's "Blue Bloods" co-star Donnie Wahlberg, and the actress captioned the post, "My work partner and my lil partner! Best day on set! #workingmomlife #bestbuds @bluebloods_cbs."
