A bashful young love, two toddlers showed affection for each other by playing tag on the playground and enjoying lego together – practically joined at the hip.

In 2016, decades later and less shy, this duo pronounced their love in front of a congregation of 200 people. However, this wasn't a consequence of them growing up together.

A DEVASTATING LOSS

After thirty years, what kind of magic brought Floridian Amy Giberson and Justin Pounders back together? The couple believes it's Pounders' passed ex-girlfriend Adrianne Roberts pulling the strings, Giberson said:

"We believe the day she became his guardian angel; she set out to help heal his heart and take care of Justin. We feel she found me and brought us together."

Although the two live their real-life romance together now, Pounders faced severe trauma in the past. The husband had to say goodbye to Roberts, a woman he planned to propose to in 2012. Sadly, she was followed home, sexually assaulted, attacked, and left to die.

FROM LOSS TO LOVE

Although mortified by the loss, eventually, Pounders put himself back out there, finding his future wife via online dating. Meeting on Match.com, sparks flew instantly on Giberson and Pounders's first date.

However, it was only until later that they figured out this wasn't the first time they had met. A month into the two dating one another, Pounders told his new lover that he went to Sunshine Preschool, which Giberson also attended.

Suspecting that they may have been childhood soulmates, Pounders's mother found that these speculations were true. She discovered a class photo that had both of them in it.

A NEW CHAPTER

Two years after they met, the now-husband got on one knee during an episode of "The View." Of course, the smitten bride-to-be said yes, who has since expressed:

"Marrying Justin is my dream come true; it was nothing short of perfection."

After the wedding, the lovebirds went on a honeymoon in the Caribbean – before officially starting married life and creating a family.

STAR-CROSSED LOVERS

Following three tragic miscarriages, Giberson finally gave birth to their first child in 2018. Even within all this loss, the now-mom still believes their life together is no accident, saying:

"The stars really had to align for everything to happen."

Whether Giberson and Pounders came across one another's path via fate or by pure chance, their story is nonetheless magical in its own right.

ALWAYS IN THEIR HEARTS

There is something about young love that never loses its spark, always waiting for the soulmates to reignite it. Giberson and Pounders found each other's glimmer through the darkness of loss.

Frederick Paul and Florence Harvey stumbled upon it similarly after their spouses passed away, but of course, their light began glimmering when they were much younger.

Dating as teenagers, the two were inseparable, with Paul flickering the light on his porch, which Harvey could see across the bay. As the young woman knew, this gesture meant that he loved her and wished her a good night.

Sadly, life pulled the two in opposite directions. Still, decades later, during their elderly years, the duo came into contact again, clicking as if no time had passed.

On August 8, 2020, the two tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Norval United Church in Georgetown, Ontario. They say young love never dies – it appears that this platitude could be more than just a dreamy saying.
