Man Kicked His Wife Out on Her Birthday after He Came Home Earlier to Surprise Her

A man returned home from work early to surprise his wife on her birthday. When he stepped inside, he saw a trail of clothes on the floor leading to his bedroom.

The man was excited to see his wife that day. However, he had no idea what was waiting for him at home. He followed the trail and discovered something shocking. 

The 36-year-old man shared his story on Reddit, revealing what happened when he went inside his bedroom. Other users flooded his posts with comments. 

The man was married to his wife for more than a decade and they had a sixteen-year-old daughter. He loved his wife, but it seemed like she didn't have the same feelings for him.

He had planned to come home early on her birthday and surprise her. However, things took a different turn when he stepped inside their house.

A trail of clothes welcomed him into the house. He followed it with a bouquet of fresh flowers in his hands, wondering why his wife had scattered clothes on the floor.

He realized why when he saw a masculine T-shirt on the ground. He was sure it wasn't his. Some other man was in his house. 

Her expressions showed how horrified she was to see him there.

When he stepped into their bedroom, he could hear his wife giggling and chatting with a man. The voices were coming from the bathroom. 

Horrified, the man stepped out of the bedroom and sat on the couch in the living room. He was clueless. He never expected his wife to cheat on him.

While sitting on the couch, he was reminded of the man's clothes he saw lying on the floor. He picked them up, threw them in the driveway, and ran to fetch a charcoal starter to burn his clothes.

He took out the man's keys and phone before putting the clothes on fire. When he walked back into the house, he saw his wife standing in the hallway with a towel wrapped around her body. Her expressions showed how horrified she was to see him there. 

"Happy birthday!" he said. Tears rolled down her eyes with her lips curved downwards. She instantly regretted cheating on her husband.

A few seconds later, the unknown man emerged from the bedroom wearing a towel, wondering where his clothes had gone. OP (Original Poster) told him that his clothes were outside. 

The man was shocked to see his clothes burnt into ashes. He yelled at OP and asked him to give him clothes to wear. 

"Get out of my house right now!" OP screamed and handed the man's phone and keys to him. He also asked him to return the towel. 

But OP's wife intervened, asking him not to humiliate the man. She told the man she would get a pair of sweatpants for him from OP's closet, to which OP  yelled, "Stop protecting him!"  

Then the man politely asked him to give him a pair of pants so he could go back home. But OP refused and pushed him out of the house. 

He also kicked his wife out without listening to her explanations. She tried her best to talk to him, but he wouldn't listen. 

Since she had nowhere else to go, she went to her mother's place and called her husband and daughter, expecting one of them to answer her calls. 

Meanwhile, OP told his daughter why he had kicked her mother out. He didn't go into much detail but just stated that she had cheated on him. 

The sixteen-year-old was heartbroken to hear that her mother was a cheater. She didn't wish to speak to her after learning the truth. 

A few days later, the man hired a lawyer and agreed to meet his wife so he could get some clarity on why she cheated on him. He wanted to meet her only to get the answers to his questions.

Feeling unsure of his decision, he messaged his wife and told her he couldn't meet her. She read his message and instantly called him, but he didn't answer.

She messaged him that she was ready to change and had already stopped talking to the other man. She was desperate to meet OP and explain everything to him.

He agreed to meet her at a coffee shop, but he recorded their conversation on his phone. When she asked him why, he said he didn't trust her, and he needed to record her words as evidence.

She said she wanted to save their marriage and be there for him and their daughter. She apologized and said she would never cheat on him again.

Once she finished apologizing, he asked her who the man was. She revealed she met him at a homeschooling program, and he was a stay-at-home father. Their affair started two months ago.

He asked her to inform his wife that he was cheating on her. "She said she feels guilty and remorseful for what she did. I told her she felt guilty and remorseful for getting caught," he stated. 

"Talk only through your lawyer. You know exactly what kind of selfish, narcissist liar and cheater she is," Redditor nachofunnyman stated. 

Redditor ZiOnIsNeXtLeBrOn felt OP should have burned the man's phone and keys too. The Redditor also thought OP should have called the police. 

"She has nothing to lose, so she well [sic] potentially try to hurt you," the Redditor stated. Meanwhile, Redditor Texan2116 appreciated OP for not resorting to violence.

The Redditor shared that a person he knew went through something similar, but he couldn't control his anger and hit the other man.

OP later updated his post and shared that he had decided to file for divorce because he didn't want to live with his wife anymore. When he told his wife about it, she started crying. 

She wasn't ready to let him go and kept apologizing, but he was sure about his decision. He also decided to talk to the man's wife and inform her about the affair.

The woman was shocked to learn that her husband had cheated on her. She immediately called him after discovering the truth and told him she knew everything. Later, she contacted OP and asked him to help her with the divorce process. 

OP expects his divorce to be finalized within six weeks. He also shared that he loved spending time with the woman. They connected well because they had experienced the same things.
