On July 22, 2025, reports emerged that Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman and one of rock's most enduring figures, had died surrounded by his family.

In a statement, his wife, Sharon Osbourne, and their children said it was "with more sadness than mere words can convey" that they announced his death.

While the exact cause was not disclosed at the time of writing, the family asked for privacy as they mourned the loss of their beloved Ozzy.

The rock star rose to fame in England's heavy metal scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s but spent much of his later life in America. For nearly four decades, Los Angeles served as a backdrop to the couple's life and was where they also built a home in Hancock Park.

However, in 2022, Ozzy and Sharon revealed they were preparing to return to the U.K. It wasn't, Sharon said, due to Ozzy's declining health, though many assumed otherwise.

"It's just time," she explained. Ozzy was even more direct, revealing, "Everything's [expletive] ridiculous there. [...] I don't want to die in America. I don't want to be buried in [expletive] Forest Lawn. I'm English. I want to be back."
