WHO ARE RAHEEM STERLING'S PARENTS?

Even though Sterling plays for the English national team, he was born on December 8, 1994, in Kingston, Jamaica. Unfortunately, his childhood was not a walk in the park.

When Sterling was only two years old, his father was murdered. He and his mother, Nadine, spent three more years in Kingston before moving to Neasden, a town in northwest London.

Nadine has been Sterling's biggest supporter and harshest critic, and she was instrumental in Sterling's success. Queens Park Ranger recruited him when he was just a kid, but his mother had different plans.

She was afraid that Sterling's life could get derailed by the gang culture in London, primarily because he had dealt with behavioral problems before. She decided they would leave London, so he could not join soccer clubs in that city.

Liverpool and Manchester City eventually showed interest, but the former acquired Raheem Sterling's services after beating City's offer.

He debuted in the Premier League as a starter at 17, three months before playing for England for the first time. In 2015, Liverpool transferred Sterling to Manchester City in a record-breaking transfer. The rest is history.

Sterling is 27 years old now and knows how important his mother was at the start of his career, so he bought her a ten-bedroom home near Slough, Berkshire. As of 2018, she split her time between the $3.10-million mansion and her housing association property in Brent.

The fact that Nadine didn't leave her Brent home raised some eyebrows because she was holding a house that families waiting for social housing could have used.
