Steve Harvey's ex-wife, Mary Shackelford, made headlines in 2020 after describing him as a "serial cheater" on a YouTube video. Shackelford also accused Marjorie Harvey of being a homewrecker for having an affair with Steve knowing he was still married to her.

Following Shackelford's claims, Marjorie threatened to sue her for defamation. She described Shackelford's words as a "sad attempt" to become relevant in the media. So when and how did Steve and Marjorie meet?

Marjorie loves visiting other countries so much that she has been famously described as the Queen of Slay-Cations. She and Steve have been everywhere, from Australia and the Dominican Republic to Italy and Ghana.

Before marrying Steve, Marjorie had two husbands and three kids. When she and Steve tied the knot in 2007, they adopted their children from previous relationships, blending their already big families.

A LOOK INSIDE STEVE AND MARJORIE HARVEY'S RELATIONSHIP

Steve and Marjorie Harvey's first meeting was out of the ordinary. It happened during one of his comedy shows in Memphis in 1990. She and her friend arrived late, and Steve stopped the show as they walked to their seats.

Marjorie believed he would tease her for arriving late, mainly because he stayed silent even after she sat down. Instead, Steve said:

"Oh, I'm sorry. I don't know who this is, but I'm gonna marry her [sic]."

He didn't propose right away, though. Steve and Marjorie briefly dated after their first meeting, but he ended the relationship because he was financially struggling.

Steve married and divorced twice before his bodyguard changed his life. He told Steve the only time he saw him happy was during his relationship with Marjorie. The bodyguard reunited Steve and Marjorie, and the couple gave love a second try.

The comedian proposed to Marjorie in Cabo, Mexico, hiding her engagement ring in her dessert. They tied the knot in 2007 and are parents to Brandi, Karli, Broderick, Wynton, Jason, Morgan, and Lori Harvey.

Before marrying Marjorie, Steve had two wives. Marcia Harvey was the first, and they married in 1981. Steve was still trying to make it big as a comedian, so he would also work as an insurance salesman. They divorced in 1994 because he supposedly spent too much time touring.

Mary Shackelford was Steve's second wife. He married her in 1996 for the "wrong reasons," including that he was tired of being alone. Although they parted ways in 2005, their relationship has not stopped making headlines.

Apart from Shackelford's claims that Steve was a serial cheater, she also sued him for $60 million, claiming the stress of their divorce and custody battle left her with emotional damage. Steve and Marjorie Harvey's love has been stronger than all the controversies. Way to go!
