Who Is Sabrina Dhowre Elba? Idris Elba’s Spouse Changed His Mind about Marriage

After his first marriage, Idris Elba swore he would never walk down the aisle again. But, his future wife helped him overcome his fears and open his heart to love again.

Fans have been rallying for Idris Elba to be the next James Bond. Their dreams could just come true with producer Barbara Broccoli confirming that they are considering him for the part.

An insider stated there was talk that Idris should be a possible antagonist at one point. But, they claimed that after market research, producers decided he would work perfectly as the protagonist.

The actor said he would jump at the chance to play the timeless character. However, Idris feels the color of his skin complicates the situation.

He worries that if he does a good or a bad job at playing James Bond, both will to some people, always relate to his complexion.

WHO IS SABRINA DHOWRE ELBA?

When Idris is not focusing on the possibility of playing James Bond, he spends time with his wife and model, Sabrina Dhowre Elba. Idris's other half grew up in Canada, and in 2014 she won Miss Vancouver.

She is

, working on climate justice initiatives and sustainable aid projects in Africa. Sabrina focuses on gender equality in non-urban communities and much more.

While she grew up in Canada, she is of Somali descent, with her mom purportedly pushing her to focus her philanthropic projects in Africa.

SABRINA DHOWRE ELBA AND IDRIS ELBA'S RELATIONSHIP

Sabrina and Idris met at a jazz bar in Vancouver while he was filming a movie with Kate Winslet called "The Mountain Between Us."

Although, as Idris said, it was love at first sight, they endured a difficult patch while dating. Idris confessed that when they began dating, he felt stressed and would have massive tantrums.

When she would confront him about it, he would suggest they go their separate ways. But, they managed to work it out and remained together, getting engaged in February 2018. The two got married on April 26, 2019, in Morocco.

Speaking about their marriage, Idris said he didn't think he would do it again after his previous marriage. However, he expressed:

"But I met someone that opened me up. I’m actually the happiest I’ve been in a long time.”

Both of them dressed stylishly on their special day. Idris wore a tailored suit by Savile Row tailor Ozwald Boateng and his bride rocked a classic A-line gown by Vera Wang.

WHO ARE IDRIS ELBA'S CHILDREN?

Idris is both a husband and a father and has two children. The first is his daughter Isan who was born in 2002 and who he had with his first wife, Kim Norgaard. While not together, the two remained great co-parents while their daughter grew up.

Winston, his son, is much younger and named after Idris' dad, who died just before he was born in 2014. Idris' ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth gave birth to him.
