Cuban-American American actor Andy Garcia is blessed with the gift of bringing whatever character he plays to life. Notable features include "Ocean's Eleven," "The Untouchables," "The Godfather II," and "The Godfather III."

In reality, Garcia's life is full of all the love and affection a man needs. For almost four decades, he has enjoyed a non-controversial relationship with his wife, Marivi Lorido, a producer.

Their history began forty-seven years ago, yet, it is a story that brings light to his eyes when he recounts it. The actor told People that their first meeting was an epic moment. He added:

"We were very young, but she swept me off my feet. Some people know each other a while, and there's a friendship first, but when we met that night, it was very clear that this was the woman of my life."

Garcia was so impressed with Lorido, also of Cuban origin, that he proposed the first night they met at a Miami bar. However, she teased him, claiming he must have proposed to all the other girls. Despite his fascination with the young beauty, they did not immediately date. It took a few years before he could convince her.

Following his persuasion, Lorido began dating the actor — he hinted that persuading her to go with him to Hollywood was easier than it was with her dad. They dated for seven years before walking down the altar in 1982.

Although it took ten years of knowing each other before they shared their vows, to this day, Garcia maintains that he knew they were meant to be from day one. In his words:

"It was love at first sight. I always knew I would marry her."

While Garcia is doing great as a doting husband to his producer wife, ever ready to talk about their flawless romance, he is also a religious man who has handled fame quite well.

The actor, whose popularity grew following his role as Vincent Mancini in "The Godfather III," has been a victim of stalking from fans and was mobbed during his trip to Spain a few years ago.

HOW WELL DOES ANDY GARCIA HANDLE PARENTING?

Irrespective of his passion for acting, Garcia believes he owes his duty to his kids as their father first, before anything else. He is a big fan of practicing what one preaches.

The Cuban-native actor explained that he is particular about his impact on his offspring. He added that parenting entails being an excellent example and embodying the values one intends to pass down.

Truly, Garcia is leading by example with his kids, and according to the chronicles of the upbringing of his daughter, Dominik, the famous actor handled them with an iron hand. According to her:

"He's pretty old-fashioned."

Dominik revealed that her parents are in sync with this format. While recounting her childhood experience, she talked about how they never gave her their home key, which deterred sneaking in.

There was also an instance of him breaking her room door because he had knocked for a long time, and there was no response — Dominik was asleep.

Garcia remains unapologetic about his past behaviors reaffirming that he was doing the right thing. In his explanation, he talked about not giving so much freedom to his daughter's male visitors. He said:

"When someone shows up at the house to take my daughter out, I'm not going to throw a party for him. It's not my job to be their best friends."

Thankfully, Garcia's strict parenting technique did not drive a wedge between him and his four kids (he shares all four with Lorido). Instead, it brought them closer, and they grew to enjoy his craft; they have all followed in his footsteps.

Dominik, the eldest daughter, was born in Miami, Florida, and was raised in Los Angeles. She became involved in entertainment at age three.

Daughter number two, Daniella, joined her sister in 1988. She is as talented as her dad, and her acting history began in the 1990s. The young actress is still updating her resumé. Her features include "City Island," "At Middleton," "Free Ride," "Rebel," and most recently "Cooper's Bar."

Alessandra is the youngest daughter and the actor's third child. She was born in Los Angeles in 1991. She also has the acting bug and has appeared in "The Lost City" and "The Models."

The couple's only son is André, born in 2002 in LA. Like his two sisters, the apple didn't fall far from the tree. However, he has the least recorded movie. In 2005, André acted in "The Lost City."

Apart from following in their dad's footsteps, the Garcia-Lorido clan has gained their dad's trust. In 2010, after Dominik's appearance in "City Island," the actor commended his daughter's performance and touched on her role—she danced on a pole with few clothes on. He explained his thought, signifying that he was confident in his daughter's values. He said:

"That's a long way from stripping in a movie. If she had to strip — ask her — she might not do it. It's her life at this point. I have certain things that I feel and I can't impose them on her."

Undoubtedly, Garcia is a super girl dad. He is also proud to be surrounded by four girls. In a 2020 National Daughters Day post showing a groupie including daddy and his adorable daughters, the father-of-four honored his babies with a caption that read:

"My three girls!!!! What a blessing."

Garcia's life story indicates that his blessings do not end with his daughters but his entire family, including his son and wife of many years. The couple has not headlined any controversies, and even though Lorido takes the back burner, she has been the woman behind this successful actor!
