'Star Trek' Actor Jerry O'Connell Made His Children Love the Franchise
We frequently listen to Hollywood stars complaining about their kids not liking the projects they work on, but that is not the case with Jerry O'Connell and his children.
"Star Trek" actor Jerry O'Connell made headlines in mid-June 2022 after "The Donor Party," his first major project after becoming "The Talk" host, was picked up by Vertical Entertainment.
O'Connell will star in the movie with Malin Akerman, and they have already finished filming it. The story will be about Akerman's character, Jaclyn, and her desperate attempts to become a mom without having a partner in her life.

JERRY O'CONNELL AND HIS WIFE'S CHILDREN ARE "STAR TREK" FANS
While O'Connell has been gracing our screens for almost four decades, one of his most beloved projects is pretty recent: the 2020 animated series "Star Trek: Lower Decks."
He loves playing Commander Jack Ransom, mainly because he and his longtime wife, Rebecca Romijn, are "Star Trek" fans.
Romijn has been involved in a "Star Trek" project – "Discovery" – since 2019. She plays the USS Enterprise's First Officer, Number One, a role she will reprise in the upcoming series "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds."

O'Connell and Romijn like the "Star Trek" world so much that they made their two daughters, Dolly and Charlie, fans of the sci-fi franchise. Romijn described what they did for their girls as an "education" and explained:
"As soon as we launched into 'Strange New Worlds,' we had the original series on every single night. And so yes, the girls had been sitting there watching it with us."
Charlie and Dolly slowly learned about multiple characters and their importance in the storylines and became fans. However, they love Mr. Spock, the Vulcan character Leonard Nimoy brought to life decades ago.
[Romijn] kept missing multiple things about Stamos.
However, the girls are more into Ethan Peck's version of Mr. Spock. Peck worked with Romijn in the second season of "Star Trek: Discovery" and will join her in "Strange New Worlds."
JERRY O'CONNELL ON HIS 2D CHARACTER IN THE "STAR TREK" ANIMATED SERIES
Both Romijn and O'Connell enjoy being part of the "Star Trek" franchise, but the "Jerry Maguire" actor is jealous of his wife because she has the "absolute honor" of wearing a uniform.
O'Connell would love to put an outfit on but cannot do it because he voices over a 2D cartoon character. He described Commander Jack Ransom as First Officer William Riker (Jonathan Frakes in "The Next Generation") on steroids.
The proud father of two also said "Lower Decks" was like "Rick and Morty" but in the "Star Trek" universe. The adult TV series follows Ransom and the rest of the USS Cerritos' workers as they complete menial tasks, becoming the first full-on comedy for the franchise.
INSIDE JERRY O'CONNELL'S RELATIONSHIPS
O'Connell and Romijn have been married since July 2007, but they were romantically involved with other celebrities. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" actress Sarah Michelle Gellar attended the same high school O'Connell did, and they briefly dated after they both graduated.
In Romijn's case, she met John Stamos in 1994, married him in 1998, and divorced him in 2005. She confessed divorce felt like a failure, but she kept missing multiple things about Stamos.
Both relationships stayed in the past, and now O'Connell and Romijn have a happy family with strong ties to the "Star Trek" franchise. Way to go!
