He later denied saying that they were dead to him, rather that the post was "like a death" to him. But he maintained that if it makes Oliver and Kate feel better, they should take the Kurt name, but said it does not mean he loves them any less:

Despite being disowned by her biological dad, Kate claimed she still thinks about her father. Even though they do not have a good rapport, Kate is saddened by her lack of connection with his other kids.
