Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have always made headlines whenever they went. They often find themselves on the receiving end of criticism, but Harry has always defended Meghan. Recently, reports claimed that Harry wanted the palace to change the rulebook in favor of his wife.

Shortly after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle walked down the aisle in May 2018, they stayed with Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at the Castle of Mey, the Queen Mother's former home in Caithness, for a week.

The visit was to brief the media about how Charles related to his daughter-in-law and admired her interest in history and furniture. In truth, that was a far cry from what Charles genuinely felt for the former "Suits" actress.

From the start, Charles never understood Meghan's intentions with his son and was bewildered by her. However, he'd managed to put his uneasiness to himself until he could no longer.

That week, during the visit, Charles finally let his true thoughts about her known. He wondered why she could not stop her father, Thomas Markle, from making TV appearances criticizing the royal family. In a moment of rage, he hurled:

Charles "berated" Harry for not convincing his wife to call her father, even as Harry explained to Charles that Meghan refused to call Thomas because she thought he did not have his phone with him and that his email account had been compromised.

However, Charles was having none of that. He could not understand the explanations and felt irritated that his new daughter-in-law could not resolve her issues with her estranged father.

Charles and the Queen suggested Meghan flies to Mexico to speak to her father, but she was adamant it would not work. She claimed arriving unannounced to unfamiliar territory was impossible as it would cause a media frenzy and bring more embarrassment to the royal family.

Once she became part of the royal family, life became unbearable for Meghan. She became isolated and felt stifled by her new life and roles. None of the royal members had gone through her situation.

She felt embarrassed by her family members and held contempt for her half-siblings, Samantha and Thomas. She, however, compared her dislike for her siblings to that of Harry towards his brother Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton.

She seemed to believe that Kate and William did not offer her the recognition and generosity she deserved and despised them for their effortless yet near-perfect image. Meghan appeared to derive her motivation from her envy of Kate.

What followed was anger from Meghan, fuelled by her false belief that Palace officials needed to protect her image or her self-promotion. She became increasingly fragile, demanding that the Palace staff view the world from her perspective.

October 12, 2018, was a celebratory day at the palace. Prince Andrew's youngest daughter Princess Eugenie had just walked down the aisle with her new husband, Jack Brooksbank.

At the reception, Meghan announced she was pregnant. The news, while significant, shocked those present. Why did she choose Eugenie's big moment to share the information?

The Sussex flew to Sydney two days later to start their Australian tour. Crowds of people received them well upon touchdown and cheered them on as they basked in the fantastic news.

The first leg of the tour was perfect. Harry opened the "Invictus Games" and scaled Sydney's Harbour Bridge to replace an Australian flag with the flag of Invictus.

Eventually, as the excitement died down, Meghan and Harry began to search the internet for unsavory comments about them every night. They harassed their staff to eliminate any inkling of criticism from the internet.

The Australian tour's success had begun getting in their heads. They reportedly began comparing their visit to the one Princess Diana and Charles took with baby William in 1983, where massive crowds of people received them with pomp and color.

The more they compared their situation to Diana's, the more Meghan reportedly became engulfed in her self-importance, believing she would be the answered prayer to the monarchy's future.

According to The Times, the Sussex's started believing their Australian success had blessed them with Diana's magic, unaware that Diana had put years into building her rapport.

A week into the tour, the Sussex seemed convinced William was jealous of their success. Something needed to change, and they felt they needed to break out of Kensington Palace. The Times reports:

"Harry proposed that the palace should rewrite the rulebook. Rather than Meghan being a dutiful member of the supporting cast, she should star as a campaigner, independent of the Cambridges and even of the Queen."

HARRY AND MEGHAN ARE FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT

Eventually, the pressure from the palace was too much for the Sussexes, and they decided to step down from their royal duties and leave Britain altogether. Upon their leaving, they pledged to become financially independent.

Two years after their dramatic exit, the pair achieved their goal of financial independence. The two can now cater for their expenses, even as senior royal members continue to incur millions in taxpayers' money.

As a sign they were doing well financially, the Sussexes paid out-of-pocket for their Easter visit to England. Palace officials also claimed that the couple repaid £2.4 million on their Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor, which was a good deal for taxpayers.

Even as their financial situation advances, their relationship with the Cambridges hangs in the balance. Even so, Kate works tirelessly to ease the tension between the two brothers and finally establish peace. A source told Us Weekly reports:

"There's a small glimpse of hope of saving the brothers from never speaking again: Kate. She can sense that despite everything that has happened, William still feels the loss of Harry."

Her peacemaking efforts have, unfortunately, proven futile as both William and Harry are "overly stubborn." However, she has made it her mandate to see the mission through, and we wish her all the best.
