Paul was born in April 1939 in Brooklynn. He started a career as an advertising copywriter before finally breaking into the film industry and landing starring roles in many of the most popular movies on screen.

Some of these roles included "Goodfellas," "Nixon," "The Rocketeer," "A Touch of Class," and "For the Love of Money." However, his personal life was also something he could be proud of as he built a family.

Although Paul eventually found success in love and marriage, it was not always easy for the star, and he had to try more than once to find the perfect puzzle piece that was missing from his life.

Paul married Lorraine Davies in 1966, and they were married until 1988. During their marriage, the couple welcomed three children, Amanda Sorvino, Mira Sorvino, and Michael Sorvino. Only Mira followed in his acting footsteps.

The actor then married Vanessa Arico in 1991. However, the couple got divorced shortly after getting married and welcomed no children together. Hope was not lost for the veteran actor, though.

Paul did not find lasting love until he met his third wife, Dee Dee, who he married eight years ago. The couple was happily married, and when Dee Dee shared news of Paul's passing, it was clear she was heartbroken.

The couple did many things together during the eight years they spent together, and they were set to last a lifetime until tragedy struck them this month.

Dee Dee and Paul met when they were interviewed on Fox News' "Show Your World" in 2013. As soon as Paul saw Dee Dee in her beautiful blue dress, he knew she would be the one for him.

While Dee Dee was quite a bit younger than he was, Paul was enthralled by the woman he saw in front of him and did not let age get in the way of what was set to be a fantastic love story.

He was mesmerized by her beauty and felt compelled to speak to her. He shared his thoughts when he first saw her, saying:

"She took the chair after me... I went nuts as soon as I saw her."

After a year-long whirlwind romance, the couple got married. Despite their age gap (Dee Dee is 55), the couple was madly in love and happily married until Paul passed away earlier this month.

The couple knew they were meant to be together and wasted no time or money on an elaborate ceremony to prove it. They simply eloped, with Paul musing:

"We eloped standing in front of the fountain at Lincoln Center where I have sung at the MET, and I have sung at the New York City Opera."

When asked what their families thought about them getting married without telling anybody about it, Dee Dee mentioned that their families, including Paul's children, were happy with their decision.

The couple has been besotted with one another ever since, and Dee Dee often shared photographs of her and her husband on her social media pages. She loved to show off their good times.

They were so in love that they even decided to do a joint business venture. The couple released a cookbook called "Pinot, Pasta, And Parties" in 2017. Unfortunately, that would be the last business venture they could carry out together.

Dee Dee is successful in her own right as she has been a media personality and political strategist aiding former president George W. Bush for some years. However, it was her husband that truly made her life exciting.

However, their love for one another carried through into Paul's final days as Dee Dee patiently waited by his side while he grappled with health issues.

It is known that Paul struggled with asthma throughout his life and attributed two Broadway costars for teaching him breathing exercises to cope with the ailment. However, this has not been named as the cause of his death.

Instead, it was noted that at 83 years old, Paul was battling some other health conditions and that he ultimately died of natural causes.

Since Paul's death, tributes have been pouring in from all corners of the globe and all types of people. Not only have his family and friends shared their thoughts, but fans have also paid tribute to him.

"Goodfellas" brought Paul's name into many households, and it has been on everyone's lips for the past couple of days, but his wife and children will miss him most dearly, as they mentioned in their tributes.

Mira, Paul's daughter, also shared a touching tribute to her father on Twitter, in which she said that she was taught everything she knew about acting by her father and that she was sending him love as he ascended.

We wish Paul's wife and children our sincerest condolences and hope that Paul's soul may rest in peace.
