Fans Debate Harry & Meghan's Parenthood While Praising William & Kate after Latest Outing with Kids
Making public appearances is just one of the many responsibilities that the royal family must adhere to. While William and Kate have been doing this for many years, recently, there have been some new family members joining them.
As working senior royals, Kate and William make many public appearances as representatives of the royal family. They have now begun to take their children out with them when they go out in public.
One of the most recent appearances that the family made was at The Commonwealth Games, where Kate and William brought their only daughter, Princess Charlotte, along. The family watched gymnastics, hockey, and swimming together.
Princess Charlotte captivated onlookers as she threw her hands in the air to cheer for the gymnastics team. This was the first time that Charlotte had made an appearance with her parents and without her brothers.
The young princess also encountered the Games' mascot, Perry the Bull, with whom she did not seem enamored. However, she did take a plush toy made in the image of the mascot, as did her mother and father.
While Kate wore a smart white Alexander McQueen pantsuit, the young royal was dressed more practically for her age in a black-and-white striped Rachel Riley dress with white shoes.
FANS LOVED SEEING CHARLOTTE'S BOND WITH HER PARENTS
While fans of the royal family love seeing Kate and William interacting with all of their children in public, they find it even more special when they can see the bond that Kate and William have with each child individually.
Some fans were happy that the Cambridges appeared to be teaching their children good morals and ethics by taking them to events such as these and helping them see what behavior to model.
Others acknowledged how important it was for a child to come from a loving family where both their parents also came from caring families as it fostered their mental health and wellbeing.
The family has been slowly introducing their children to royal duties, and fans have noticed that this is an excellent way to do things. It gives the children a chance to get used to royal life without being thrown into the deep end.
One fan said that doing this allowed the children to have a good balance of their public and private lives. The same tweet acknowledged how cute young Princess Charlotte was.
Princess Charlotte throwing her hands in the air during exhilarating moments at the Games captured audiences more than anything else. While the royal children are usually cool, calm, and collected in public, this display of enthusiasm was refreshing for fans.
Fans enjoyed seeing Princess Charlotte enjoy herself so much that they took to Twitter to post photos of the event. Apart from sharing a series of images, one user said that the Cambridges were a beautiful family.
Although these tweets celebrated William and Kate's parenting and how cute Princess Charlotte is, the royal family has not always received kind words from the public. They have been criticized often.
Being a royal is not an easy job, but each of the working royals takes on their role with dignity and discipline. However, those who are no longer working members of The Firm are sometimes harshly judged.
One Twitter user showed a contrast between William and Kate and Meghan and Harry. They pointed out that while Meghan and Harry were working on a Netflix show and had cameras around them often, William and Kate simply enjoyed time with their daughter.
HARRY AND MEGHAN HAVE BEEN HEAVILY SCRUTINIZED
For as long as Meghan Markle has been part of the royal family, she has been the subject of heavy public scrutiny. She and Prince Harry have had so much negative press since they became a couple that eventually led them to leave the royal family.
One of Harry and Meghan's criticisms is that they hide their children from the public, while William and Kate are proud to show their children off. Fans have been confused by this for quite some time.
Some fans believe Meghan and Harry have a right to protect their children's privacy, while others believe that if they are willing to show them off sometimes, they shouldn't be surprised when fans want them to do it more often.
Speaking for the latter group, PR expert Lida Citroen expressed her views on the situation, saying:
"That's where it kind of goes to, you know, you don't get to open the box just a little bit."
One Twitter user remarked that William and Kate were teaching their children, particularly Charlotte, what it was like to have all eyes on you in an organic way that would help her to deal with it in the future.
The same tweet mentioned that she was not being hidden from the public eye and made afraid of all the attention she would inevitably get as she got older. This is not something that Harry and Meghan appear to be doing.
Public appearances are second nature to the royal family now, and they are used to having all eyes on them. At the Platinum Jubilee, one set of eyes noticed that Harry may not have been happy about the seating arrangements.
Angela Levin, Prince Harry's former royal biographer, said that Harry and Meghan were "furious" about the seating arrangements because they were made to sit in the second row. In contrast, William and Kate sat in the front.
Alastair Stewart, the host of GB News, claimed that seating Harry and Meghan where they did was a snub. He added:
"They were in the second row, not behind the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge, but in the second row even behind people like the Wessexes."
However, other fans of the royal family believe that there is no drama between William and Kate and the Wessexes, who comprise of Prince Edward and his wife.
During the entirety of the Harry and Meghan drama, the Wessexes have appeared to remain neutral, and it is known that William and Kate spend a lot of time with them.
