Rod Stewart Boasted about Becoming a Grandpa after Welcoming 1st Grandchild with All 3 of His Wives
Rod Stewart became a grandfather to a baby girl for the first time, close to age 70. His two ex-wives and current one made sure to be present when the rock star's granddaughter was born, and he's since spoken a lot about the endearing role.
In August 2011, Rod Stewart was only 66 when he became a first-time grandfather to a granddaughter. According to Daily Mail, the star was over the moon about the new role and said the arrival of his granddaughter was one of the happiest days of his life.
Rod's daughter, Kimberly Stewart, was the child that made him a grandfather to a baby girl. His current wife, Penny Lancaster, was by his and his daughter's side when Kimberly gave birth to her first child.
The legendary singer's granddaughter, Delilah, was welcomed by Kimberly and her former boyfriend, Benicio del Toro. The little girl was born in Los Angeles' Cedar Sinai hospital.
The first visitors who helped welcome Delilah included Kimberly's mother, Alana Collins, Rod's first wife. The musician's second wife, Rachel Hunter, also paid Kimberly and the new addition a visit at the hospital.
The iconic singer's other children, Renee and Sean, also came around to see the newborn child. Speaking about the birth of his first grandchild, Rod said, "My joy is indescribable."
People magazine revealed that he celebrated Delilah's arrival by throwing a party at Hollywood's Dan Tana's. The event was to celebrate Kimberly's 32nd birthday and the coincidental birth of her child.
Kimberly's child joined Rod's blended family, including his daughter's biological brother, Sean, and their seven half-siblings. In August 2015, Kimberly told Hello! that her father was "very involved" in her daughter's upbringing and served as "the peacemaker."
The singer's daughter, then 35, shared with the publication that she had been "dating here and there but no one who I would want to introduce Delilah to." After his granddaughter's birth, Rod admitted to USA Today that he couldn't stop talking about Delilah, stating:
"I've been going around blabbing that for hours now."
Kimberly revealed how filming "Hamiltons & Stewarts" with her blended family forced them to handle their issues. Rod's daughter confessed that her family wasn't perfect and that she and her mother argued frequently, but they always made up.
She explained how being on the reality show forced them to talk and move on from the issues. In May 2020, Rod spoke candidly about his family and confessed it was "hard" to bring all his children together.
From a teenage relationship, the "Reasons to Believe" singer welcomed a daughter, Sarah, and Kimberly and Sean were from his marriage to Alana. With Kelly Emberg, he welcomed Ruby, and with Rachel, he had Renee and Liam.
The rock legend and his current wife also share two sons, Alastair and Aiden. Speaking to the Daily Mirror, the artist revealed that he had a clever way of gathering his children around.
The star explained how his brood always said they had plans whenever he wanted to see them. So Rob found a way to force them to come together by making a threat, where he jokingly told them:
"‘If you don’t come, it is coming out of your inheritance.’ So they show up.”
WHEN DELILAH WAS BORN, HER PARENTS WEREN'T TOGETHER
In April 2011, sources claimed that Kimberly had hoped to live "happily ever after" with Del Toro. The model and the actor were not dating during Rob's daughter's pregnancy, and until then, her relationship with Del Toro hadn't been public news.
However, the former couple agreed to remain on good terms for Delilah's sake. Insiders close to the famous singer's daughter alleged that Kimberly had hoped to have "something more" with her ex and was "secretly upset" that Del Toro wasn't looking to create a family.

According to a People magazine source, the former couple had been together for years before their breakup. The insider claimed the pair's relationship hadn't been solid as they broke up and made up for a while.
The Oscar winner's representative revealed that Del Toro had been "very supportive" of his ex during her pregnancy. However, fans didn't need to expect to see the duo shopping for baby clothes because Kimberly preferred to keep her private life to herself.
Delilah's birth brought her mother joy but also reactivated Rod's writing abilities. The singer-songwriter confessed that the child's birth inspired him to write songs again, which he "never thought [he'd] do."
The little girl, [Delilah Stewart] whose mother [Kimberly Stewart] described her as "the greatest thing in my life," would be eleven years old.
The "I Don't Want To Talk About It" musician said he was writing about his childhood, divorce, and many other things. Rod noted that his gift had been lying dormant for 17 years, and he didn't know why it suddenly returned.

In June 2012, when Delilah was ten months old, the media got a good-quality photo of her during an outing with her mother. She was photographed in Kimberly's arms while the model was out with actor Scott Caan.
The "Living with Kimberly Stewart" star once said her daughter "definitely" looked like her father. However, the "You're in My Heart: Rod Stewart with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra" star's child also noted that the little girl had her eye color and legs.
DELILAH'S UPCOMING BIRTHDAY AND BEING BROUGHT UP WITH LOVE
In August 2022, Delilah was now ten years old and happy in her blended family despite her parents not being together anymore. When this article was published, Rod's only granddaughter was set to celebrate her birthday in three weeks.
The little girl, whose mother described her as "the greatest thing in my life," would be eleven years old. In 2015, Kimberly had toned down from her partying days and enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother.
She and her baby girl lived together with Kimberly's half-sister, Ruby. The trio stayed together at a Beverly Hills home built on the grounds of the rock 'n roll singer's estate, and according to some reports, Rod had more than enough grandsons under his belt.
