Eight soldiers from Queen's Company 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards carried the coffin, and Meghan allegedly appeared to take a deep breath as it passed by.

The foursome spent 40 minutes interacting with the people gathered at the gates. At one point, Meghan was seen hugging a 14-year-old girl, who explained to CNN how that came about.
The unnamed teenager shared how she and the rest of the crowd waited patiently for the Duchess to come over and when she did, she asked her name. Meghan also politely asked the girl how her day was, with her stating:
"I asked if she could have a hug, and she hugged me back. It was just quite an amazing moment. I'm still shaking now."
The Daily Mail said Meghan cooed over babies, shook hands, petted dogs, and offered hugs to other people in the crowd. However, some people were allegedly not too pleased to see her and her husband and gave them a cold reception.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, royal commentator Neil Sean noted how willing Meghan was to meet the British public. Sean claimed an excellent source told him the Duchess had been "terrified" about how they'd receive her.
However, those fears quickly floated away as Harry's wife allegedly felt "validated because the British people do like her."
It had been two years since Meghan's official return to the United Kingdom after she and her husband stepped back from their royal duties in 2020. The last time she was present for a royal event was in June 2022, for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, only spending about four days with other Royal Family members.

According to sources, William was the one who texted Harry at the last minute, asking him and Meghan to co-attend the walkabout. Sean thought the couple being invited probably improved Meghan's attitude towards her old life with the Royal Family. The insider claimed for the moment, the Duchess was feeling good, adding:
"They are ready and willing to embrace their return at some point back to the UK… She's liked, and what happened on Saturday proved that to be the case."
Despite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex being wished well on their ventures "abroad," Sean still felt they had other more influential people to win over. The royal commentator thought it was still to be seen how the couple was included in King Charles III's plans.
The publication believed the walkabout and the dinner were all signs that [Prince] Harry and [Prince] William had put aside their feud for the greater good of the family and as they mourned.
Sean believed it wasn't only the British people who had to forgive Harry and Meghan but also the other senior Royal Family members. Hopefully, the sacrifices the Duchess made to her personal schedule and business appointments would signify how dedicated they were to the family.
Meghan's Sacrifices So She Could Honor the Late Queen Properly and by Her Husband's Side
According to Daily Mail, during the week of Her Majesty's passing, Meghan showed how much she supported the Royal Family and her husband. She allegedly dropped a star-studded Los Angeles Award ceremony to be in the UK.

The publication claimed on September 28, 2020 the royal was supposed to attend a gala celebrating Variety's new "Power of Women" issue. At the event, she was reportedly going to be commended alongside former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton and former First Lady Hillary Clinton.
Meghan would've allegedly spoken about the "tropes holding women back". A source close to the event claimed the Duchess had "gracefully declined" partaking in it after Queen Elizabeth II's sudden passing.

Another thing that Harry's wife did was to postpone her newly launched podcast, Archetypes, indefinitely. Meghan and Harry's choice to be in the UK during this challenging time shows how dedicated they are to the Royal Family.
On September 13, 2022, the couple joined other royals at Buckingham Palace for dinner. The event occurred after Her Majesty's coffin was brought back to London from Scotland to lie in state at the Palace of Westminster.
The publication believed the walkabout and the dinner were all signs that Harry and William had put aside their feud for the greater good of the family and as they mourned. Many hope these instances were signs that the siblings could heal their rift.
