Ashton Meem and Russell Willson's Relationship
According to Suggest, Ashton Meem and Russell Wilson met during their adolescence. Following their wedding announcement, Meem revealed to Richmond Times that they had encountered each other twice before any romance ensued.
Wilson reportedly attended Collegiate School in Richmond, Virginia, while Meem was not too far off at St. Catherine's High School.
The pair have an age gap of a little over a year, with Meem being the older ex-partner. Meem recalled:
"We met briefly in high school. Then again at a summer party and after that started seeing each other."
They graduated high school and attended different universities, but they maintained their chemistry through the long distance. Meem eventually transferred to NC State University and was closer to Wilson. In 2011, Wilson also moved to Wisconsin University to play football.
When Wilson was ready to pop the question, he devised a grand romantic gesture where he would propose to Meem at a hotel Presidential Suite in Cary, North Carolina. He also involved her parents, who waited quietly in the lobby to congratulate the former fiancees.
Their dog Penny bore witness to Wilson going down on one knee as he asked for Meem's hand in marriage. The pair exchanged vows two years later, securing their marital union on January 14, 2012, in Virginia. That year, after tying the knot, Wilson's career burgeoned.

The quarterback earned himself a four-year-long $2.99 million contract and was chosen by the Seahawks in the third 2012 NFL Draft. Wilson went strong with Meem for a little over two years before deciding to file for divorce in April 2014. He released a statement in The Seattle Times.
Wilson lamented the difficulty of such a choice. He also spoke on behalf of his ex-wife, requesting prayers and privacy from the former couple's supporters. Wilson concluded by declaring that he would not provide any more information or comment regarding his decision.
Ashton Meem Was Rumored to Have Cheated on Russell Wilson
Although Ashton Meem and Russell Wilson kept the details of their relationship under wraps, the former lovers were still not exempt from the media's scrutiny. After announcing their separation, theories as to the reason why surfaced and swirled the internet.
The prominent rumor was that Meem had been unfaithful to Wilson, cheating on him with one of his former teammates, Golden Tate. Fearing the repercussion on his reputation, Tate responded to the speculations and claimed that the rumors were unfounded via a personal essay on The Cauldron.
The Lions player added that Meem and his girlfriend were best friends, and even he and Wilson were good friends "on and off the field." However, as Wilson stated, after disclosing that he and Meem were divorcing, he and his ex-wife never addressed Tate's statement.
In 2015, Tate expressed his disdain toward Ciara's husband for his "radio silence," as he didn't know what Wilson believed, and the media tarnished his name. He claimed that he and Wilson still talked, but not as much as they used to.
Wilson and Meem have moved past that part of their lives. Neither of them has revealed a valid reason for their relationship's end. Wilson moved on and started his own family, and no information regarding Meem's personal life is available.
