After meeting on a night out, Lena Gieseke and Tim Burton tied the knot in London. They were a couple that managed to steer clear of the spotlight and continued their shared love for art after going their separate ways.

Burton has become a well-known figure in the film industry for his flare for dark and gothic horror films. 1989 proved to be a good year for the director as it was the same year his film "Beetlejuice" was nominated for a Hugo Award, and he married his one and only wife, Gieseke.

Born and raised in Germany, Gieseke has become a well-known artist and photographer. While she was married to Burton, they were occasionally photographed attending movie premieres together in Hollywood. Since then, Gieseke has remarried, started a family, and shared her art during exhibitions across America and on her social media.

Lena Was a Student from Germany

Gieseke was born in 1965 in Bremen, Germany. From 1987 to 1989, she resided in England and attended both Wimbledon College of Arts and Goldsmith College of Arts in London. In 1989, she relocated to the States, where she enrolled at the California Institute of the Arts.

From as early as 1992, Gieseke started appearing in exhibitions. Until 2000, she had shows in New York and Los Angeles. In 2000, she had an international exhibition in Brussels, Belgium, titled "Bubbles." When speaking about Gieseke's art, an art website wrote:

"In Gieseke's photos, she sets up similarly unsure settings, and we are left to fill in the blanks ourselves again. At every viewing, I may be seeing what she is showing or simply what I am feeling, but as with all good art, it is what it is."

Burton and Gieseke met at a party in London and married on February 24, 1989. They decided to go their separate ways in the early 1990s. One of their last appearances together was during the premiere of "Batman Returns" on June 16, 1992.

Both Burton and Gieseke had found love again since their divorce. Burton began dating Lisa Marie, a model turned actress, while Gieseke remarried Charlie Guimont, a construction coordinator and a writer, and professionally goes by Lena Guimont.

Gieseke has since continued to have exhibitions and took to her social media to share an art show titled "Friends & Family." The photographer relocated to Berlin, Germany, but continued to work in New York.

Her Instagram had over four hundred followers at the time of writing and almost exclusively featured shots of her artistic eye. From street scenes of Berlin to nature photographs and abstract pictures.

Gieseke's family served as the muses for her work from time to time, and in April 2021, Guimont posed for black and white portraits that Gieseke shared on her Instagram.

In 2002, Guimont and Gieseke spoke about the home they had renovated after its purchase five years prior. The writer and the photographer renovated a mid-19th-century brick Italianate, and when talking about the fixer-upper, Gieseke said:

"You can look at something that has a lot of character and get it back to the original and make it your own at the same time."

After marrying Guimont, the couple welcomed two sons. Like Heidi Klum, another proud mom from Germany, Gieseke only shares a few rare shots of her children. In September 2021, Gieseke celebrated her son, Bruno, on his eighteenth birthday.

She shared more color pictures of her eldest son in January 2021, and in 2015, Guimont took to Facebook to share a from-the-back photo of his wife and sons.
