Marita Stavrou Is Known for Being Reggie Miller's Ex-wife: What We Know About Their Marriage and Divorce
Basketball Hall of Famer Reggie Miller and his first wife, Marita Stavrou, met through basketball, but the game could not keep them together. Their coupling is bookended with an ugly battle waged over money through their respective legal counsel.
The couple seemed mismatched from the start. Reggie Miller spoke about Marita Stavrou's disappointment in the lack of nightlife in Indianapolis in 1994 and that he informed her that their nights would be filled with reading and playing pool at home.
The sports announcer found the family life he was looking for in his second wife -- who calls him a "hero" -- with whom he has three children. Access to the private family is limited to sporadic social media postings.

When Reggie Miller and Marita Stavrou Met, It Was Magic
Through Magic Johnson, Miller met his first wife, Stavrou, a Wilhelmina model and actress. A day after their August 1992 wedding, he surprised his bride with a post-nuptial agreement, which she would later say left her "disappointed and hurt."
By 1994, the actress lived in Los Angeles for her career. A friend said that the "Dinner Rush" star did an excellent job finding her identity outside her marriage. The basketballer, who spent most of his life on the road, felt "neglected" with her away from home.
The couple's six-bedroom mansion burnt down to its foundation in the early hours of May 15, 1997. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department named the cause arson four days later, saying it was most likely done to cover up a burglary.
Miller said the arson was an "ugly and hateful thing" and hoped that the reward would lead to the apprehension of the culprits for him and his wife to move on from the "twisted act." He bumped the $10,000 reward up to $17,000 for information leading to an arrest.
The former model has parlayed her love for design and collecting antiques on her travels into a lifestyle design company.
High-value items such as Stavrou's $45,000 engagement ring, a Cartier watch, and Olympic memorabilia were not found in the rubble. The actress was plagued by rumors of her involvement in the crime despite no evidence to back it up, as she was never charged.

Reggie Miller and Marita Stavrou Got Divorced After Eight Years
In August 2000, Miller filed for a legal separation from his wife and signed paperwork of a more positive nature days later, a $36 million contract with the Indiana Pacers. Stavrou's lawyers reportedly cited this as evidence of his "devious" behavior with his finances.
The divorce was granted on April 3, 2001, and the model received a $5 million lump sum as determined in their postnup. Insiders say that she was merely trying to get "one bite of the apple" when details of her contesting the settlement became public.
The former model has parlayed her love for design and collecting antiques on her travels into a lifestyle design company, Marita Stavrou Inc, based in Miami. Per the website, the designer has worked with R. Simmons and the Lenny Kravitz Design Group and is also a philanthropist.
Reggie Miller Is Happily Remarried

The latest addition to the Miller clan is a baby girl born in January 2021, whose name has not been publicized yet. The family's 14-year-old German Shepard Sookie sadly passed away in August 2022.
Mom of three Laskowski's social media is plastered with her kids' major life events, like birthdays and their first days of kindergarten/school, with no details of her professional or private activities outside of family life.
As a third-grader, Ryker was already following his father's legacy on the basketball court. Laskowski posted a video of her firstborn making the net from the three-point line.
