Brittany Dudchenko and Drew Brees are raising their four kids, or as the dad calls them, the "wolf pack," in New Orleans. They met at the prestigious Purdue University, and she was on his side during his initial draft by the San Diego Chargers and later the New Orleans Saints.

The retired NFL footballer keeps his marriage fresh by regularly surprising his wife with outings. He says that he falls in love with his college sweetheart daily.

In 2003 the Purdue alum started a charity with her husband, the Brees Dream Foundation, in memory of her aunt, who died of cancer. In addition to supporting cancer research, the foundation provides support to families in need and disaster relief.

After Their Disastrous First Meeting, Drew Couldn't Face Brittany for Months

As an aspiring NFL layer, Drew hoped to meet his future wife at college. That day came when he was not in total control of his mental facilities during his 20th birthday party. An attempt to pick up Brittany with a cheesy line backfired, and he could not speak to her for six months.

Her friends, too familiar with the epic failure of his pick-up line, insisted on joining them when Drew finally worked up the courage to ask her out. Soon their first date devolved into a group date with jocks aiming Hot Tamales at De Niro's face at the movies.

The couple married on February 2003, and the former Saints player says he finds himself pursuing his wife daily. Now that he is retired from the NFL and all their children are at school, the college sweethearts got on bi-weekly nature hikes.

Why Drew Brees' Boys Didn't Want Their Dad to Retire

Drew's football-mad sons were devastated to learn of their dad's plan to retire. Even the prospect of spending more time with their old man did not soften the blow. Their disappointment stemmed from not being able to go to all the games and hanging at the Saints' facilities

The former MVP made his last play in an NFL game on January 17, 2021, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His friend and fellow 40-something, Buccaneers QB Tom Brady, did not go easy on him, and the Saints lost 30-20.

The Brees children had the run of the field for three hours after the game; in fact, the grounds team turned the lights off on them around midnight. The newly retired footballer and Brittany waited patiently while their energetic kids "soaked it up."

The boys are getting into their father's favorite sport early; Baylen and Bowen both referee at Football 'N' America (FNA) games. FNA is a non-contact youth co-ed flag football league. Callen gets coached by his dad on his 5th-grade FNA team, the Black Knights.
