Jim Toth Encouraged His Wife to Become a Producer: Meet Reese Witherspoon's Husband

Reese Witherspoon's husband, Jim Toth has a wise head on his shoulder and his wife appreciates his advice. She thinks he is an excellent planner and an accomplished leader who is great with people and encourages them to see the good in life.

Toth is Witherspoon's second husband. The actress was famously married to her "Cruel Intentions" co-star, Ryan Phillippe, with whom she shares her first two kids, Ava Elizabeth and Deacon Reese Phillippe. The celebrity couple married in 1999 and divorced eight years later in 2007.

Toth came into the picture almost three years after Witherspoon's marriage ended. He worked as a talent agent for Creative Artists Agency, where Witherspoon was one of their clients. The couple got engaged in December 2010 and married four months later at Liberty Ranch in California. They share one son.

Jim Toth and His Support for Cancer Research

Toth was born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, on July 27, 1970, making him six years older than his wife. Although he is not directly active in the filmmaking industry, he is credited with two productions. The first is his appearance as a golfer in two episodes of the TV series "According to Jim" in 2004.

His other involvement was in something closer to his heart. Toth is credited as a co-executive producer in a 2021 TV Special, "Stand Up to Cancer," which featured many notable comedians, including Sofia Vergara, Ken Jeong, Anthony Anderson, and Common. The show was a fundraiser to support cancer research.

Toth has been heavily involved in raising funds for cancer research and finding new and more advanced treatment methods since he lost his father to the disease in 2009. In one of its events held in 2016, the Stand Up to Cancer campaign raised a whopping $42 million. This is a testament to his excellent organizational skills.

Toth Is a Very Supportive Husband

After Witherspoon's separation from Ryan Phillippe, she thought about not getting again. However, when Toth came into her life, he promised to show her what a good person and partner is every day.

He added, "I'm gonna do this so much that you're gonna get used to it." In response to her Prince Charming, Witherspoon hilariously recalls thinking, "What are you talking about? I have never had anybody like that in my life."

Fast forward to 2022, and their marriage is still strong 11 years after their wedding. Toth even helped his wife with her career by encouraging her to become a producer. He had noticed that she read many books and thought that she could find various stories she could make into movies from those books.

He's a Good Dad

One year after Toth married Witherspoon, the couple welcomed their first and only child together in 2012. They named him Tennessee James Toth.

Tennessee was an addition to Reese Witherspoon's two other kids, Ava and Deacon, from her marriage with Phillippe. They seem to get along well with their stepfather, as seen through their mother's social media posts.

Witherspoon always shows her appreciation for her husband as a great father and husband. In a 2016 interview with People, she was asked about what had most impressed her about her husband. In her response, one of the things she highlighted was his patience and the way he is funny with the kids.
