Brennan, an atheist who only believes in substantial evidence, works alongside David Boreanaz's character. The actor plays FBI and special agent Seeley Booth, a dedicated catholic who believes in his intuition. Because of their different beliefs, Brennan and Booth constantly differ in opinions and can barely stand each other.
As the seasons develop, Brennan and Booth decide to work towards a common goal; they solve crime cases by collaborating through different investigations. As they continue working together, Booth falls in love with Brennan, who, in turn, finds herself becoming vulnerable and trusts him.
Throughout the show, their romantic relationship progresses until they tie the knot. Interestingly, Emily Deschanel's real-life husband played the character who officiated her fictional catholic wedding with Booth.

People Wondered about the Nature of David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel's Real-Life Relationship
Boreanaz and Deschanel's on-screen tension and chemistry on the crime drama series "Bones" saw them marry and become parents to two kids. By the end of the series, their relationship got fans wondering if the two were an item in real life.
Even though the two "Bones" co-stars portrayed a happily married couple, they are not together in real life. Boreanaz is married to his second wife, Jaime Bergman, and Deschanel is Hornsby's wife.
After acting alongside each other for over a decade, Boreanaz and Deschanel became close friends. In an interview, the two actors spoke about their experience working together and said it strengthened their friendship through the years.
Boreanaz stated that having a positive working relationship with Deschanel made the show a hit. He also said that through their friendship, he was proud of all the work they did through the years:
"We kind of really opened our hearts to each other, and we really trusted each other, which gave us some really great material to work with."
On the other hand, Deschanel stated that she had a fantastic friendship with Boreanaz, something she would miss about the show. Besides working with Boreanaz, Deschanel said that she would also miss all the cast members and the great memories they made.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2019, Deschanel stated that on the set of "Bones," she spent much more time with Boreanaz than they both did with their spouses. During that time, they kept their relationship strictly professional and gave each other space whenever one felt overwhelmed.
Through that, Deschanel said they related well, and she considers Boreanaz a brother. She added that as much as people have work husbands and wives, acting alongside each other and being married takes it to a different level.
