While Faith Evans took the stage as a singer, her ex-husband, Todd Russaw, showed his expertise behind the scenes as a talent manager and music composer. The couple didn't let their divorce ruin their business relations or family, so Russaw stayed as Evans' manager while co-parenting their son.

Todd Russaw and his ex-wife, Faith Evans, shared the same passion for music. Although they worked in the same industry, Russaw did not share the stage as a singer, so to Evans' fans, he was known as her husband.

However, behind the scenes, Russaw has several titles behind the scenes beyond Evans' husband. He is a manager, composer, businessman, and executive producer.

Todd Russaw Has Been a Talent Manager for over 20 Years

Russaw began his career over 25 years ago after he graduated from Glendale Community College. In the mid-'90s, Russaw joined Motown Records as the company's A&R Director, working with Missy Elliott as her producer.

He also worked for Pedigree Multimedia, where he became Evans' manager and producer, releasing three of her hit albums, "Something About Faith," "A Faithful Christmas," and "The First Lady." In 2018, Russaw co-founded Think BiG Holdings alongside CJ Wallace and Willie Mack.

Besides his experience in the corporate side of music, Russaw also composed several songs, including songs in the albums "Good Times," "Mesmerized," "Ultra Dance 07," and "Stonewall, Vol. 2: The Passion," among others.

Todd Russaw and Faith Evans Had a Son during Their Separation

Russaw married Evans on November 11, 1997, but divorced in May 2011. However, the couple had been separated since December 2005, the same year their son, Ryder, was born. They also share a son, Joshua, who was born in 1998.

After their divorce, the singer sought joint legal and sole physical custody of their sons. Evans also refused claims of spousal support, according to court proceedings.

Besides her kids with Russaw, Evans had a son, Christopher Jordan Wallace, during her marriage with The Notorious B.I.G., and a daughter, Chyna Tahjere Griffin, during a relationship with Kiyamma Griffin.

Todd Russaw's Son Is Autistic

Russaw and Evans' youngest son, Ryder, was diagnosed with autism during his younger years. Initially, doctors did not listen to Evans' claims that Ryder had developmental disabilities, but she begged for a proper diagnosis.

Her son's condition, coupled with the lack of attention his previous school gave him, moved Evans to create Ryder's Room Inc., a foundation that caters to autistic kids. Evans said:

"[Stevie J] said I really needed to do it because this is what we're living. I want to raise funds to be able to donate [them] to families who may be in need. We started doing YouTube symposiums to help people who may not have the resources or idea where to go."

Faith Evans Wanted Todd Russaw to Remain Her Manager

Besides co-parenting their two kids, Evans and Russaw are working professionally together. Russaw continued to stand as her manager as Evans wanted.

However, the ex-couple have moved on from each other in their personal lives. In 2020, Evans reportedly tied the knot with Stevie J, born Steven Aaron Jordan. The duo first met in the '90s while Evans was still in her first marriage.

Not long after their wedding, rumors about the couple's rocky marriage hit news outlets. However, the duo quickly shut down the speculation, noting they were still husband and wife.

The couple hit the headlines again in 2021 after Stevie filed for divorce from his wife. As part of the settlement, he requested spousal support after Faith Evans reportedly cheated on him.
