Maggie Harlow is an entrepreneur; she developed her interest in the business from her father's automotive company. Because of her passion for business, she didn't seek employment elsewhere after she graduated from Indiana University.

But instead, Maggie worked at her dad's Buick-Jaguar dealership, where she began washing cars and worked her way up to the general manager position. After managing her family business for 13 years, Maggie's father decided to sell the dealership since he was going on retirement.

Jack Harlow's Mother Received an Art Education

Besides being a successful entrepreneur, Jack Harlow's mom is a philanthropist, something she inherited from her father. Maggie said that her father, Tom Payette, taught her the importance of giving back to the community.

For instance, Payette would hold workshops to teach women automotive tasks like checking oil or filling tires. Because of her charitable work, Maggie is a strong advocate of charity work and has influenced small businesses to give back to the community.

According to Maggie, charity work isn't about donating money; she stated that businesses that can't afford to write checks could give out goods or services. She said:

"I think every business, in its own way, might be able to give its own product and have it make sense financially, but it does require an effort to organize. It does take resources."

Even though Maggie is passionate about business, she studied a different field in college. Based on her LinkedIn profile, she went to Indiana University Bloomington and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. Maggie is married to Brian Harlow, and the couple shares two children.

Besides having a successful business, Maggie and her husband like to volunteer to help other business owners succeed.

Jack Harlow's Mom Approached His Desire to Become a Rapper Mathematically

When Jack Harlow was 12, he asked his mother what it would take for him to become the best rapper in the world. Maggie, who had just read the book "Outliers" told him it would take 10,000 hours of practice to become the best rapper.

Maggie gave his son a deadline that by his 18th birthday, he should be able to meet the hours. That means Jack had only six years left to meet his target. After doing her calculations, she decided that Jack had to work between four to five hours daily on his rapping skills.

Jack, born on March 13, 1998, began listening to rap music at a young age; his mother revealed that while she was pregnant, she used to listen to many of Eminem's songs. When Jack Harlow was 10, he asked his mother permission to listen to explicit albums in her collection.

During that time, his mother would listen to many songs from Gwen Stefani and the Black Eyed Peas. But her first album to own was from the hip-hop trio Thee Sugarhill Gangs.

Maggie said that when her son was getting started with rap music, he was worried because he wasn't from the black community. But his love for hip-hop gave him confidence; plus, he got Maggie's support—who was a fan of rap music.

Besides having a successful business, Maggie and her husband like to volunteer to help other business owners succeed. To them, teamwork makes the dream work—and they find pleasure in serving others.
