Alejandro Cabello and Sinuhe Estrabao went the extra mile to secure a promising future for their eldest child. When the "Havana" singer was only five years old, Estrabao flew to Mexico with her, uprooting their life in Cuba in search of a new one.

Upon landing, they embarked on an hours-long journey to the U.S. and stayed with a family friend while Estrabao found her feet; however, her husband would only join them the following year. It was difficult for the mom of two, but she persevered.

Cabello shared the same devotion as his wife after he reportedly swam the North American river, the Rio Grande, to finally be with his family. He received his green card in 2016 and currently co-owns a construction company with Estrabao.

Although his daughter excelled in school, he supported her dream to pursue a career in music. Several years into her success, the former Fifth Harmony member dedicated a song to him that she performed at the 2020 Grammy Awards ceremony, leaving the Senior Cabello teary-eyed.

Camila Cabello's Father Is an Immigrant from Mexico

Not much else is known about Senior Cabello's background, but he only immigrated to the United States a year and a half after his wife and daughter relocated. Camila counted the days leading to his arrival on a Disney calendar she owned, marking each day with an "X."

When her dad finally joined her and her mom, she was over the moon. Although Senior Cabello had been in America for several years, making a living by washing cars at a mall, he only received his green card in 2016.

Toward Camila's 15th birthday, she told him and his wife that she wanted to audition for "The X-Factor." And so, accompanied by his younger daughter and their grandmother, they took a 12-hour drive to North Carolina, where Camila was accepted into the show and placed in Fifth Harmony.

Alejandro Cabello Became Emotional When His Daughter Once Sang about Him at the Grammys

From her second solo album, "Romance," Camila dedicated the song "First Man" to Senior Cabello. She received the privilege of performing it at the 2020 Grammys while he sat in the front row. The performance left Alejandro overwhelmed with emotions, failing to contain his tears.

As the song came to a close, Camila descended the stairs toward her dad and reached out to him endearingly. When she finally sang the last note, the pair embraced, leaving close-by celebrities like Gwen Stefani also teary-eyed.

Camila's Mother Left Her Country for the Sake of Her Daughter's Future

Estrabao's home country is Cuba, where she worked as an architect. During a chat with Glamour in 2017, she and her daughter recounted their journey from Cuba to America, carrying only a backpack full of their belongings.

Estrabao wanted better opportunities for Camila, but the decision to leave home wasn't taken lightly; she left everything, including her job, her friends, and her family. The first few years in America were also difficult, but she was determined to make things work.

Estrabao attained a degree in general contracting while working at Marshall's to provide for her family. Eventually, after her husband joined them, they launched their own construction company.

When Camila said she wanted to audition for "The X-Factor," Estrabao was initially reluctant, seeing how introverted Camila was in school. However, after seeing that Camila – who faced body-image issues – could overcome her shyness, Estrabao believed in her daughter's ability to trump fear.

She and her husband approved of her relationship with her now ex-boyfriend, Shawn Mendes, with Camila Cabello even meeting his parents. However, much to the disappointment of many fans, the pair ended their romance in November 2021.
