Ron Howard Taught Daughter How to ‘Clean a House’ & Repair a Broken Roof — At 41, She Is a Self-Sufficient Lady
Ron Howard built his fortune in Hollywood when he came to fame as a child star, but as a parent, he did not want to dish out everything on a silver platter to his children. So, he gave them a normal life and taught them practical life skills, but he still felt like he could have been a better father.
Ron Howard first came to fame as a child star from his appearance on "The Andy Griffin Show" and "Happy Days" in the 1960s.
But growing up, he found a love for being behind the scenes and became a director and producer. Howard's talent for producing was seen in the films, "Apollo 13", "Splash" and "A Beautiful Mind, and Frost/Nixon" which earned him an Academy award.

The renowned producer has picked up a few more awards along the way and is well-known for his work, but Howard has kept his family life on the low, except for his daughter Bryce Dallas Howard.
Bryce followed in her father's footsteps and became one of the big names in Hollywood. She's an Academy Award-nominated actress who has starred in fan-favorite films like the "Jurassic Park" franchise and "Spider-Man 3."
However, Howard's other children, Reed, 34, and Jocylne, 36, have been kept out of the limelight, but Paige is also an actress. He shares his children with his long-time wife, Cheryl Howard.

Cheryl is a writer and used to work for a shooting range, she and Haward met in 1975 and have only gotten stronger, but they pride themselves in raising their children out of the limelight and giving them a childhood that was as normal as possible.
Parenting in Hollywood
Bryce grew up around a lot of creativity, from her father's prestigious role in the film and a writer for a mother, who Bryce praised as being good at everything.
But Bryce chose her father's route and has been inspired by him since his days on "Happy Days," where he acted alongside her Godfather, Henry Winkler.
There's also no doubt that Bryce is her father's daughter; she's a beautiful woman with stunning red hair and an apparent similarity with her parents.
The "Jurassic Park" star looks up to her parents; she even took them on her honeymoon in 2006 when they toured the Greek Islands.
However, Bryce is grateful for the childhood that her parents gave her. Even though she was born into a privileged family, her parents did not spoil her rotten with extravagant things; they still wanted to maintain some normalcy.
Bryce remembered when her family was traveling, Howard and his wife booked themselves first-class tickets while their children sat in economy, "they would never throw the kids in first class," emphasized Bryce.
The "Spider-Man 3" star said it was never a problem because she and her siblings knew that they were already fortunate to have the opportunity to travel.
The acting was Bryce's first love, so when she got into the industry, she did not want her hard work to be reduced to her father's name; thus, the actress decided to drop her last name and go by Bryce Dallas.
Her last name became an insecurity of hers, and she felt that every role she got would return to who her father was, but her parents asked her one crucial question, "Are you not proud of our family?"
That is when Bryce realized the advantages and family connections she had grown up with, and the attention on "what can Ron Howard's child can do" would always follow her, but no one could take away her talent and love for acting.
Bryce grew up in a nurturing household; her parents decided to move to the outskirts of Connecticut, where they would not be accessible.
The actress and her siblings grew up with chickens, miniature horses, goats, and sheep. Bryce loved her upbringing because her parents taught her things people need to feel confident.
Those practical skills included cleaning the house and the barn, fixing a roof and the toilet, and other repairs around the house. Bryce's parents did not want to treat her like a princess but wished for their daughter to grow up as a self-sufficient woman.
Bryce's parents also helped her get over her fears, the actress confessed that she used to be scared of snakes, but her mother told her to be aware of them and not fear, so to help her work on it, they got a baby snake as a pet. The actress named her pet snake Joseph, and as she grew up with it and took care of it, her fear of snakes was gone.
Now that she's been married to her husband Seth Gabel since 2006, Bryce said every time her parents come over and see him doing one of the skills they taught her; they would say, "we taught you this! Why aren't you doing it?"
Bryce had a rooted childhood and was not treated like a princess, but she still had experiences that were not usual to the average child, but in her way, she had a normal upbringing far from public scrutiny. She even described it as a "best-case scenario."
So, even though she will live to be compared to her father's work constantly, Bryce would not trade her family's encouragement and opportunities for granted because she is proud of where she comes from.
Bryce Dallas Opened Up about Motherhood
Bryce is a mother of two, Beatrice,10, and Theodore,15. Despite the shock of being a mom to a teenager and a preteen, some things have not changed despite her kids getting older.
The mother of two confessed that she was a sucker for traditions, especially Easter holidays. Bryce is an avid guest at the Lindt Gold Bunny Event and said she never changed her children's Easter baskets for years.
She loves to keep them the same for the sake of tradition. Something about doing the same thing each year is special to her. The actress and the director of "The Book of Boba Fett" and "The Mandalorian" also opened up about her struggle with postpartum depression after the birth of her son.
The experience taught Bryce that motherhood needed her to let go of perfectionism. She realized the was no point in planning every step of her life because it was negatively affecting her mental health and the well-being of her family.
Besides the humbling beginning of motherhood that Bryce experienced, the journey has been joyful. The actress said the pandemic brought her closer to her family as most of their days were spent with her kids and working from home.
Even though the pandemic was stressful, Bryce said she and her family started a few traditions that continued for a long time. But as a mother, she understood that being cooped up indoors gave her kids a longing for independence, but she's grateful to have built a close bond with her children as they entered their teen years.
Bryce has loved to see her father thrive as a parent, and now as a mother, she has loved to see her husband guide their children through life.
So, as an appreciation and an opportunity to highlight the life of father's in Hollywood, Bryce created a documentary called "Fathers," which included famous dads like Will Smith, Jimmy Fallon, Kenan Thompson, her father, and more.
In the documentary, Howard said when he became a father, he wanted to be as great as his own father; even though he does not believe he lived up to his expectations, he advised other dads that being a good father was the biggest blessing you can pass down your children.
Although Howard does not believe he was as good of a father as his dad, he has raised four independent children who are grateful for all the lessons and wisdom he has given them.
