Will Firth Received Sinister Roles Because of His Appearance - Colin Firth's Eldest Son Is Also an Actor
Will Firth, the son of acclaimed British actor Colin Firth, has inherited his father's extraordinary talent and followed in his footsteps by pursuing a career in acting. While he has spoken about Colin's support for him, Will had an unconventional childhood growing up away from his famous father.
Just like his famous father, Colin Firth, Will Firth has chased after the spotlight with determination. Will entered the movie industry and appeared in several films, including "Spider-Man" and "Hope Springs." He even starred opposite his father in "Bridget Jones's Baby."
In a 2015 interview, Will spoke about his acting career and mentioned that his father supported him throughout. He said his father has always been there for him, especially when things get tough.
Will Had Lived without His Father since He Was 2 Years Old
Will was born on September 20, 1990, and is the son of actors Colin Firth and Meg Tilly. At the time of his birth, his mother already had two children, Emily and David, with producer Tim Zinneman.
Meg's marriage with Tim did not work out after she put her career on hold to focus on her marital relationship. She realized the fact that she was "too young" for marriage.
Meg returned to acting six months later and met Colin, who eventually became her boyfriend and Will's father. However, when Will was young, Meg and Colin decided to end their relationship and separate.
Meg and Colin's long-distance relationship was unsuccessful. Colin was working in London while Meg was in Vancouver, which made it difficult for them to maintain a strong connection. Meg stated that there was "too much separation" between them.
After the couple broke up, no one knew where Will lived, but according to his Facebook profile, he is from Vancouver. He has lived from place to place over the years, including Malibu, California, in 1994 and Oak Bay, British Columbia, in 2002.
Will eventually decided to live in London and attend a drama school to follow in his father's footsteps in the entertainment industry. He studied drama at the East 15 Acting School.
Will's Father Called to Read Him a Bedtime Story
According to those close to him, Firth's separation from Will was extremely difficult for him. His sister, Kate, revealed that, despite Firth's reputation for eliciting tears on screen, he struggled to express his emotions during this personal crisis.
Firth stated that it was the most painful moment of his life, but he made an effort to maintain a connection with Will by visiting Canada and calling him every night at bedtime to read him stories.
Will is physically similar to his father, with his towering stature, broad shoulders, and dark, wavy hair. He also has a close relationship with his two younger half-siblings, Luca and Mateo.
Luca and Mateo are Colin and his second wife, Livia Giuggioli's sons. Colin mentioned that his two sons would probably see Will as an uncle due to their vast age difference.
Will is engaged to Amelie Edwards, who has a striking resemblance to his former stepmother, Livia.
Firth found success less than a year after splitting up with Meg. He got his big break when he played Mr. Darcy in the BBC adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice," which launched his career.

Meg was not surprised by Colin's success because she had always supported his career and cheered on him as he progressed. She expressed her pride in him, calling him a wonderful man and actor.
She praised Colin for being an exceptional father to their son Will and her other children, Emily and David. She emphasized that Colin consistently made an effort to be an involved and present parent to all of them. She said:
"He's showed up for graduations, births of babies. He's a sweetheart."

Will Was Getting Sinister Roles Because of His Appearance
Will has earned a reputation for playing roles that are very different from those of his father. While his father was known for playing romantic lead roles that charmed many women, he often took on roles that frustrated the audience. He said:
"I've had a few sinister roles because of the way I look."
Will stated that he had more comedic roles while attending drama school at E15 Acting School. One of his notable performances was as Little John in the 2013 Christmas production of "Robin Hood."

In the 2019 romantic comedy film "Love Type D," actor Will played the role of John the Intern, a rude and ungentlemanly character. One of his notable actions in the film was breaking up with his on-screen girlfriend.
Colin helped Will navigate his acting career, even though they have disparate on-screen roles. Will mentioned that his dad was initially worried about him entering the industry because it can be a complex and emotionally demanding job.
However, Will understood his father's concerns and explained that he just wanted to make sure Will knew what he was getting into. Despite the worry, Colin has been supportive of Will throughout the process.

Will Is Engaged to a Woman Who Resembles His Then-Stepmother
Will is engaged to Amelie Edwards, who has a striking resemblance to his former stepmother, Livia. Aside from their physical similarities, Amelie also speaks Italian, like Livia.
Amelie is a British actress and BBC producer proud of her soft Midlands accent and a "good ear for other dialects." According to her website, she is also proficient in Spanish and Italian.
Will's fiancée has a background in Medieval History and received a Masters in acting from East 15 acting school in 2012. Represented by Aston Management, she has worked in various mediums, including film, theater, and audio, and recently set up her home studio to work on audiobooks as a narrator and producer.
Will Firth Has Two Half-Brothers
Will Firth has two half-brothers on his father's side: Luca and Matteo. Luca, born on March 29, 2001, is an aspiring musician who plays guitar and is in a band. He has performed at the Isle of Wight Festival.
Matteo, born in August 2003, has not been in the public eye as much. But he seems to be a music enthusiast, judging by a 2011 YouTube video of him and his brother Luca covering Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean."
Will's career is flourishing, and he is grateful for his father's support and guidance. Despite their unconventional family dynamic challenges, the two have forged a strong bond that will last a lifetime.
Will looks forward to making a name for himself in the industry and carrying on his father's legacy, and he knows that Colin will always be there for him, no matter what.
