Kurt Angle Has 6 Children from His 2 Marriages: What We Know About Them
WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle was a demon in the wrestling ring but always a family man at heart. He is a father to six children, five biological and one he and his second wife adopted internationally.
Kurt Angle has spoken about his regret of not being around for his two eldest children's early childhood due to work commitments and their living with their mother. He stressed that he loves all his children equally.
The dad of six tags social media posts about his large brood with "love my kids" or "proud dad." Judging from the Olympiad's social media platforms, the children from his first marriage spend most Thanksgivings with their dad.
Kurt Has Five Children from His First Two Marriages
Karen Smedley and Kurt had two children in their ten-year marriage; Kyra, born on December 2, 2002, and Kody, on October 26, 2006. The pair got divorced on October 26, 2008. Smedley remarried another man in the world of wrestling, Jeff Jarrett, in 2010.
At 14, Kyra was her father's plus-one at his televised WWE Hall of Fame induction in 2017. In her early teens, she posted vlogs and covers of "Love Yourself" by Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes' "Stitches" on a now-deleted Youtube channel, RealKyraAngle.
She sang the anthem at the National Wrestling Alliance's 70th-anniversary show in November 2018. Kurt proudly shared a link to her first single, "Our Bridge," at the end of 2020. She graduated from Hendersonville High School in May 2021.
Kyra has shifted her focus to acting and modeling. The actress was on three episodes of "TNA iMPACT! Wrestling" between 2007 and 2008. She portrayed the role of Nancy in Rob Hull's TV movie, "Big Break."
As a child, Kody Angle's favorite wrestler was Tyson Kidd, a love his dad encouraged by getting him a signed autograph. The Pittsburgh native is a dedicated fan of the Steelers and Penguins.
His gold medalist dad helped Kody prepare for his driving test in December 2022. Kurt joked that at 16, his son needs to learn how to speed and evade the law, quickly adding that the Angle household practices safe driving.
Kurt met his second wife, Giovanna Yannotti, on the set of the 2009 action film "End Game." The actress was a last-minute extra, "Customer at Restaurant," as a favor to a friend and instantly fell for the wrestler when she saw him, not knowing who he was.
The couple undertook a 15-month process of adopting a teenager from Bulgaria...
The pair pushed back their impending nuptials when she fell pregnant with their first daughter together. Giuliana "Squeaks" Marie Angle was born on January 22, 2011. They finally tied the knot on July 20, 2012.
According to Kurt, middle schooler Giuliana is a talented swimmer, and he enjoys every second of being a "Swim Dad." He has high hopes for his progeny; before one of her meets, he told her, "Remember, if you're not first… you're not a gold medalist!"
Sophia Laine Angle was born on December 31, 2012, and looks to be the one to carry on her father's wrestling legacy. At three, she started training as a wrestler at the Angle Elite Wrestling Club. She looks up to Olympic wrestler Helen Maroulis.
Yannotti and Kurt welcomed their youngest daughter, Nikoletta Sky Angle, on November 5, 2016. The wrestler posted a video of her first crawl, in which she adorably scurried over to an action figure of her papa.
Giovanna Yannotti and Kurt Angle Adopted a Boy from Bulgaria
While researching adoption, Giovanna Yannotti discovered that children older than ten rarely get adopted, which convinced her that she and her husband should give an older child a forever home.
The couple undertook a 15-month process of adopting a teenager from Bulgaria named Josef. Kurt told TMZ that the teen did not speak English and attended classes for six months before coming to America, but Yannotti luckily speaks some Bulgarian.
Kurt and Yannotti brought Josef home to the United States in October 2019. The tall brunette teenager became an American citizen in January 2020.
The mother of four tweeted a photo of her adopted son wearing Moon Tiger wrestling colors at the end of 2022, gushing, "So proud of our boy."
