Johnny Bananas' girlfriend must know that she is not dating the reality star but John Devenanzio, the man behind the villain persona. At present, there is no clear candidate for this role.

As of 2023, Johnny Bananas has been in over 250 episodes of MTV's "The Challenge," during most of which he was dating someone on the outside. However, during his single phases, he tended to develop a "showmance."

"Showmances," a portmanteau of show and romance, are generally characterized for their intensity that does not last long beyond the show's airing. Reality shows thrive on the drama of contestants forming romantic attachments.

Johnny Bananas Seems to Be Single Now despite "Showmance" with Moriah Jadea

Bananas, born in 1982, celebrated his 40th birthday appropriately while filming "The Challenge: Ride or Die." Nany Gonzalez, his competition partner of the season, threw him a party, while another contestant threw a cake in his face.

But the seven-time champ did not mark his fourth decade on earth with only his cast mates, as he hinted in an interview before the show aired that there were some "onscreen sparks flying." However, the show's editors did not see fit to include most of these "sparks" in the season.

The professional reality show contestant said in his "Death, Taxes, and Bananas" podcast in December 2022 that though the "showmance did not get nearly the amount of airtime it deserved," he and Moriah Jadea were, in fact, in a "full-blown 'Challenge' relationship."

Bananas was amused when she told him that her mother had warned her about him, calling him a "sneaky snake." A first-timer on "The Challenge," Jadea said the seven-time champ was her "bestie" in the house as she had a rather tough time with her partner, Faysal Shafaat.

Other than the podcast admission, there have been no further updates about this liaison. At the time of publishing, their season had not concluded.

This is not the first time that the reality star has forged a romantic connection or was rumored to be dating one of his cast mates.

Back in February 2022, the official Instagram account of "The Challenge" stoked relationship rumors by reposting a TikTok by Natalie Negrotti with an unidentified beau, seen holding hands with the "Big Brother" alum.

Fans were not reaching when they speculated if the mystery man was Bananas. The two had a fling on "The Challenge: Vendettas" and were snapped having a romantic sushi date in a New York restaurant on January 11, 2022.

The "Jay and Silent Bob Reboot" actor shut down all speculation with his signature dark humor. He dryly commented below the Insta post that he would "rather put a campfire out" with his face.

Morgan Willett Alleged That Johnny Bananas Cheated on Her

Bananas' most successful relationship to blossom out of his time filming reality TV is with Morgan Willett, who he met at the end of 2018 on the 33rd season of "The Challenge." The pair traveled the world for two weeks after shooting wrapped.

She took offense to a headline in 2019 that asked if they were still "canoodling." To her, the word canoodling meant they were just having a fling, and she wanted to clarify that she did not consider herself a "hook-up." The "Big Brother: Over the Top winner" said:

"I've had a lot of people on social media reach out to me and say, 'You know, you're just hooking up with him to get on the next show,' and that couldn't be further from the truth."

Over the next two years, the couple posted many snaps together, sharing sweet messages of love on each other's birthdays. However, on September 27, 2021, Willett released a statement announcing they had split after two years of dating. She said:

"While I feel heartbroken, I'm thankful to know the truth. Johnny is someone I loved and respected very much, and so I will be taking some time to heal and process it all."

Banana said in his own statement that he wished her all the best but preferred to keep the details of the breakup "close to the cuff."

After a family trip a week later, the "Big Brother" alum revealed that the "person she loved more than anyone else" had cheated on her. A friend tipped her off, but she got the evidence she needed when she saw he had washed their sheets while she was away on a trip.

Gonzalez briefly dated Bananas but called it off because she "didn't trust him."

"The Head Thieves" actor did not respond to the allegation. To a listener's question on his podcast in January 2022 about if he missed Willett, he said he missed her every day.

Johnny Bananas Has a Tumultuous Relationship History

Bananas and Olympic snowboarder Hannah Teter dated for five years. During the season premiere of "The Challenge: Vendettas" in 2017, he revealed that they had parted ways and that it would be the first season since he started competing that he is single.

A year later, in August 2018, a sex tape of the pair was leaked by a website. Though the reality star was not mentioned by name, fans recognized his distinct tattoos. The exes did not comment on the non-consensual publication of their intimate life.

After her stint on "The Real World" in 2011, Gonzalez briefly dated Bananas but called it off because she "didn't trust him." The duo reconnected as friends during the 33rd season of "The Challenge." They have since partnered up in two subsequent seasons.

Bananas revealed in 2022 that he almost joined Genevieve Parisi, who he dated after Willett, on "Bachelor in Paradise." However, the big bosses at MTV would not allow their star contestant to partake in an ABC reality show.
