Butler won a Golden Globe for his depiction of Lisa Marie's late father, Elvis Presley, in the biopic, "Elvis." The mother/daughter pair placed their hands on their faces as they appeared to quell tears.
As Butler said he'd love Lisa Marie and her mother "forever" for taking him in as he worked on the movie, she placed her hands on her heart. Speaking at the event in one of her very last interviews ahead of Butler's win, Priscilla's daughter said his performance as her father was "mind-blowing."
The singer shared how she hadn't known what to do with herself after seeing the movie. She said she took five days to process it because it was spot-on, authentic, and incredible, and she couldn't describe what it meant.

The star said she was at the ceremony to support the biopic's creator, Baz Luhrmann, Butler, and the film. Lisa Marie revealed how excited she was and hoped the actor won for his role.
Butler did leave the event with the Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Drama award. Addressing the Presleys, he thanked them for their memories and opening their hearts and home to him before declaring his love.
In 2022, a premiere for the film was held at Graceland, where Lisa Marie got to sit with Butler at the Memphis mansion's Jungle Room. The late singer praised the actor in an Instagram post with their photos, writing:
“I do believe that this may be my first smile in 2 years.”
In 2020, Priscilla's daughter lost her son, Benjamin Keough, at age 27, and the passing broke her. Her son wasn't the only person she recalled losing, as she still had memories of the last moments she shared with her father.

One of the hurdles she faced was introducing herself to her future fans and then singing in front of them. While many knew Lisa Marie as Elvis' daughter, she was also a mother of four, Benjamin, Riley Keough, Finley Lockwood, and Harper Lockwood.
Despite the legacy she held, her children always remained her priority, and she was protective over them. In 2014, the songwriter confessed to smothering her children with love and that they were what she cared about the most.
