The classic coming-of-age novel revolves around the transition of a young girl into becoming a young woman. Bringing this main character to life will be Abby Ryder Fortson, a talented actress with several credits to her name.

"Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret" will hit the big screens on April 28, 2023. Other starring talents include Kathy Bates, Elle Graham, and Rachel McAdams, whose partner, Jamie Linden, is also in the entertainment industry.

Abby also joined the casts of "Rated," "Room 104," "A Dog's Journey," and "Tales from the Loop," but her most recognized role was as Cassie Lang, AntMan's daughter, in the Marvel films "Ant-Man" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp."

Abby's father is known for being the writer and director of "Rated," which won a total of 21 awards. He also landed two nominations for Best Director for the film.

Besides directing, John is known for starring in "Urban Nightmares," "Definitely Maybe," "Spacechild," "My Big Fat Independent Movie," "ER," and "7th Heaven," among many others.

Meanwhile, Abby's mother has acted in "Swamp Thing," "Forever," "USMA West Point," "Beverly Hills, 90210," "Bones," "Malcolm in the Middle," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," and "General Hospital," which also starred Kelly Monaco.

She made her name known as soon as she graduated high school and landed a guest spot on "Super Force," where she earned a Screen Actors Guild card.

Abby's younger brother, Joshua Fortson, is also in the entertainment business, slowly building his name in the industry as an actor.

Her character will focus on searching for the meaning of life and finding her identity. "It's about this kid who's trying to figure out if there's something greater beyond us," Craig said of the story. "It's making sure that she's going to be okay in this time when she feels so alone and uncertain."

The film adaptation will follow much of the original book's storyline, where young Margaret moves into the suburbs and joins a secret club with a unique requirement for its members.
