Brendan Gleeson is a producer, director, and one of the most celebrated and award-winning Irish actors. He started his career in the theatre and made his film debut in 1990.

The actor is famous for his roles in "Braveheart," "Calvary," "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," "The Guard," "In Bruges," and many more. Besides his achievements in the industry, the actor is blessed to have four talented sons.

Domhnall Gleeson Has the Most High Profile Success of Brendan's Four Sons

Brendan's first son, Domhnall Gleeson, was born on May 12, 1983, and is an actor. In addition, he is also a writer and director and has worked on more projects than his siblings. Like his father, he has also worked in the theatre.

He is known for his roles in series and movies, including "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," "The Patient," "The Revenant," "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," "American Made," and more.

After Domhnall joined the "Star Wars" universe in 2015, his father was worried about the attention he might get. His father said:

"I don't think Domhnall will be defined by his Star Wars role, he's well known already, and his attitude is pretty great. I just hope the attention doesn't become too idiotic, but I can't see why it should."

Despite his fame, Domhnall has been very secretive about his private life. He was once reportedly living with film producer Juliette Bonass.

However, he does not discuss his relationship status and is shocked people are interested in that part of his life. He believes that part of his life is precious and would not want to share it with the public.

Fergus Gleeson Is a Musician Who Dabbled in Acting

Fergus Gleeson is his father's second son, and although his career path is unknown, he has had a stint in the entertainment industry. He currently has two credits to his name.

He got his first credit as an actor in 2012 when he joined the rest of his family alongside other actors in "Immaturity for Charity." His second credit was for his composing skills on "Psychic," a short film starring his brothers and father.

In addition, he is a musician and plays the guitar. In 2020, he bonded with his father on "The Late Late Show." He played the guitar while his father played the mandolin as they performed several songs.

The third Gleeson son Brian was born on November 14, 1987. He is an actor, writer, and producer. Like his father and older brother, he is also an accomplished theatre actor who starred in "A Whistle in the Dark at the Abbey."

He has acted alongside his brother and father in different movies and series, including "Assasin's Creed," "The Tiger's Tail," "Noreen," "What Will Survive of Us," "Mother!," "Frank of Ireland," and more.

Brian is also known for his role as Jimmy McCavern in season 5 of "Peaky Blinders" alongside other stars like Cillian Murphy, Sophie Rundle, Helen McCrory, Tom Hardy, Paul Anderson, and others.

Recently, the actor, whose career began in 2006 and received a nomination at the Irish Film and Television Awards five years later, has starred in series like "The Lazarus Project" and "Bad Sisters."

Rory Gleeson Is a Talented Playwright

The youngest of Gleeson's sons is Rory. He was born in 1989 and worked behind the scenes as a novelist, playwright, and screenwriter. He attended Trinity College Dublin, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.

In January 2017, he published his debut novel, "Rockadoon Shore," and the following year, he wrote the short film "Psychic." The film was his father's directorial debut and featured his brothers.

While his writing has been featured in several publications, he shares his family's passion for theatre. The debut play he wrote, "Blood in the Dirt," premiered in November 2019.
