Fans of Hollywood bachelor Colin Farrell may be surprised that he once took the plunge and tied the knot back in 2001. Like many of his romantic partners, Colin Farrell's wife was a talented actress and singer.
The man critics have named Ireland's most outstanding actor has been linked to a veritable who's one of Hollywood's most beautiful women and is the father of two boys, but only one led him to the altar.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, on May 31, 1976, Colin Farrell fell in love with acting at a young age. He attended acting school but dropped out. Farrell had his screen debut in actor and director Tim Roth's powerful and disturbing family drama "The War Zone" in 1999.
Over the next five years, he made an incredible 14 films, including "Hart's War," "Minority Report," "The Recruit," and the lead in Oliver Stone's "Alexander." Since then, Farrell has been unstoppable, working with Hollywood studios and independent films and equally at home as a hero or villain.
In 2015 he starred in the uncanny thriller "Solace" alongside Academy Award-winner Anthony Hopkins and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as an empathic killer, and in the 2022 adaptation of "Batman" with Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz, he played the iconic villain, The Penguin.
His most recent triumph was with the 2022 film "The Banshees of Inisherin," in which he worked with his "In Bruges" co-star Brendan Gleeson which received critical acclaim. Farrell's romantic life has been less successful, with one non-marriage and a series of short romances to his credit.

Colin Farrell Had a Spur-Of-The-Moment Wedding after a Passionate Romance
Colin Farrell met singer and actress Amelia Warner in 2001. At that time, Farrell's career was taking off, and so was Warner's. The young actress had already starred in "Aristocrats," the Jane Austen film "Mansfield Park," and "Quills" with Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush.
The two fell passionately in love, and on a trip to Tahiti, they decided to get married. Unfortunately, four months later, the glow of tropical romance faded, and they broke up. Warner revealed:
"We had a ceremony on a beach in Tahiti that was by no means legal, and we knew it wasn't. It was just a thing we did on holiday. We went shark feeding, and then we did that. We booked them both on the activities desk at the hotel."
Warner, who was 19 then, was devastated by the end of the relationship four months after the mock wedding, even though she knew it wasn't legally binding. It was the closest Farrell came to marriage.

A Quintessential Hollywood Bachelor, Colin Farrell Stayed Tight-Lipped about His Love Life
Farrell has been linked to many women, including Playboy playmate Nicole Narain, Britney Spears, and Lake Bell, and even had an emotional connection with Hollywood diva Elizabeth Taylor.
His desire to help and support his boy led Colin Farrell to give up drugs.
Since 2016 Farrell has kept his love life under wraps, but in 2017 he admitted to Ellen DeGeneres that he was dating Kelly McNamara, one of the Irish band U2's managers.

Colin Farrell Is Now Dedicating His Time to His Two Sons
Though Farrell has never married, he has fathered two sons. His oldest son, James Padraic, was born from his relationship with model Kim Bordenave in 2003. James was born with a rare genetic condition, Angelman Syndrome. Farrell revealed:
"The struggles of a child with special needs can be so brutal that they can tear at the very fabric of your heart, but the love shared and the pure strength and heroism observed is the needle and thread that mends all tears."
His desire to help and support his boy led Colin Farrell to give up drugs. He shares his second child, Henry, born in 2009, with his "Ondine" co-star, Polish actress Alicja Bachleda-Curuś. Farrell has revealed that his sons enjoy his movies, but they want him to stop playing villains and become a hero.
