Colin Farrell Had a Spur-Of-The-Moment Wedding after a Passionate Romance

Colin Farrell met singer and actress Amelia Warner in 2001. At that time, Farrell's career was taking off, and so was Warner's. The young actress had already starred in "Aristocrats," the Jane Austen film "Mansfield Park," and "Quills" with Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush.

The two fell passionately in love, and on a trip to Tahiti, they decided to get married. Unfortunately, four months later, the glow of tropical romance faded, and they broke up. Warner revealed:

"We had a ceremony on a beach in Tahiti that was by no means legal, and we knew it wasn't. It was just a thing we did on holiday. We went shark feeding, and then we did that. We booked them both on the activities desk at the hotel."

Warner, who was 19 then, was devastated by the end of the relationship four months after the mock wedding, even though she knew it wasn't legally binding. It was the closest Farrell came to marriage.
