Leo Has a Sweet Nickname from His Father

Leonardo's parents took to social media to announce his birth on Monday, September 12, 2016, at 6:51 p.m. in New York City. His mother shared a picture of herself holding him as a newborn, and in the caption, she wrote:

"We are so pleased to introduce you to our new baby, Leonardo Ángel Charles Baldwin. It was such a special day bringing him into this world."

Leonardo's father also posted a photo of him as a newborn and introduced Leonardo to the world with his sweet nickname, Leoncito. His parents' third child together and their second son, Leonardo's parents announced they were expecting in March 2016.

Leonardo's father was 58 when his son was born; his mother, Hilaria Baldwin, was 32 and a yoga instructor. Before her son's birth, Hilaria shared snaps of her growing baby bump and her pregnancy journey on social media.

In 2022, Leonardo and his siblings were gearing up for the transition back to school. His mother shared pictures of him and his siblings holding up signs with their names and the grades they were starting, which she revealed Leonardo's sister made.

In 2021, Leonardo and his whole family—bar his eldest sister—hit the carpet at the premiere of "Boss Baby" in matching black suits. Leo's Parents Have Been Together since 2011

Leonardo's parents met in February 2011 at a New York Pure Food and Wine restaurant. His mother was already familiar with his father's films and remembered being four years old and liking his movie, "Working Girl."

In the Summer of 2011, Leonardo's parents began dating. While reminiscing about her first encounter with her future husband, Leonardo's mother said:

"I was standing near the door with my friends when he walked up and took my hand and said, 'I must know you.'"

By 2012, the couple was engaged and officially tied the knot with a star-studded wedding. In 2013, the couple welcomed their first child, Leonardo's second older sister.

Leonardo Has a Lot of Siblings

Alec Baldwin welcomed Leonardo's eldest sibling, his sister Ireland Baldwin, during his first marriage to Kim Basinger. After his parents met, Leonardo's second older sister, Carmen, was born on August 23, 2013.

His older brother Rafael was born on June 17, 2015. After Leonardo was born, his parents gave birth to his younger brother Romeo on May 17, 2018, followed by Eduardo on September 8, 2020.
