Johnny Depp’s Daughter Was Shamed for Her Weight - Dad Will Always Protect His ‘Beautiful’ Lily
Johnny Depp's reason to live is his only daughter, Lily-Rose Depp. The 23-year-old young woman is criticized for the way her body looks after she went through an eating disorder with her father by her side. Johnny shared how he'll be with her no matter how old she is.
In 2016, Lily-Rose Depp, Johnny Depp's only daughter, addressed her fight against anorexia. Her Instagram followers noted how thin she'd gotten, and the then 17-year-old confessed that she wasn't happy with her looks.
Lily-Rose said during a rare interview about her eating disorder that it saddened her because the anorexia happened when she was younger, and it was hard for her to come back from it. Johnny's child explained that she was doing all she could to improve.

However, she did admit that her past eating disorder disturbed her. The "Divergent" actress shared how she'd been trying to regain weight for a while and was proud of her progress.
A few years after the candid interview, in October 2019, Vanessa Paradis's daughter was seen happy and thriving as she picked up some fast food. The then-20-year-old star looked healthy without makeup as she smiled during her New York outing.

However, it seems the model's past will continue to haunt her as on January 27, 2023, a Twitter fan page reposted one of her Instagram Story images, and some followers were critical. In the photo, the actress had her eyes closed, and her hair was ruffled.
Part of her upper body was showing, and the back of her ribcage was slightly visible as she sat with her eyes folded. One person wrote, "Too thin," while another person commented:
"lily rose depp lost weight too."
A third person thought the American-French star "looks unwell." Lily-Rose might've been targeted by critics about her looks, but she was lucky to have a father who always had her back.
Johnny's Protection and Love of Lily-Rose
In May 2001, an article revealed that Johnny was a different man and "wild about" his then two-year-old daughter! Lilly-Rose was credited as the main reason and cause for her father to settle down into family life in Paris.

The actor who starred in "The Man Who Cried" declared that he was the same person as the one he was before his daughter came along. However, the first time he met her was his "best moment," and everything came into sharp focus when he met Lily-Rose, with him adding:
“She became my reason to wake up in the morning… and my reason to live.”

Johnny explained that he wasn't a self-obsessed or selfish person, but when he met his daughter, he felt "total selfishness." How he thought about Lily-Rose was uncanny for the actor, known for being a bad boy.
He'd dated numerous Hollywood stars, fought photographers, trashed hotel rooms, and struggled with alcohol addiction, but after welcoming his daughter, he was only looking for stability.

In 2007, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star opened up about how Lily-Rose's birth in 1999 transformed him. He confessed that having her was not only the "greatest thing" that ever happened to him but the only one, with him noting how he'd helped give her life and, in turn:
"I feel she gave me life."
She became the reason for him to meet the future, and Johnny felt like it had been his birth when she arrived. In 2022, Lily-Rose confessed that she and her brother, Jack, grew up being protected by their parents from the spotlight.

However, she knew her childhood was different from others, but fame was a particular thing that she had to deal with and the only thing she knew. The actress was blessed to have had a caring father when she battled anorexia.
Johnny Was with His Child as She Fought against Her Disorder and Still Is
In 2015 when Lily-Rose was 16, Johnny acknowledged how she had thousands of people following her on social media. He revealed their relationship type, noting how the model told him everything.
The star said his daughter wasn't afraid to open up to him, adding: "We're super-tight, and I'm very proud of our relationship." The proud father shared how Lily-Rose had it together, was sharp, and was the most intelligent human he'd ever met.
Johnny also revealed he was there whenever the "Silent Night" actress needed advice. He knew that children would make their own decisions but vowed to give her support, stating:
“The only thing you can do as a parent is to offer support. And I do.”

The "Edward Scissorhands" star described his daughter as beautiful, and although he worried about her, he hadn't expected her evolution to happen so quickly. That year, the actress surprised everyone, but her father, when she came out as sexually fluid.
Johnny [Depp] confessed that he didn't, however, imagine a day when he could switch off his fatherly instinct which made him concerned about his daughter [Lily-Rose Depp].
The term meant Lily-Rose didn't regard herself as entirely straight, causing lots of talk from her fans. Johnny shared how watching his daughter's transitions was funny, as if they'd happened overnight.

He witnessed her growth from babyhood to a little girl, and then, to him, what felt like she suddenly became a young woman! The actor couldn't help but be a doting father as he vowed never to stop being Lily-Rose's parent.
Johnny said no matter how grown up the model became; he'd never stop worrying about her wellbeing. He described his commitment to the "A Faithful Man" actress as a "father-daughter thing."

However, his support and worry over her weren't because he thought she wasn't capable. Paradis' ex said Lily-Rose had a sensible head on her shoulders, and he trusted her to lead sensibly.
He also anticipated that she'd pursue a responsible life too. Johnny confessed that he didn't, however, imagine a day when he could switch off his fatherly instinct, which made him concerned about his daughter.
The "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" actor couldn't envision switching off and allowing "The Dancer" actress to make her way in the world. It seemed Lily-Rose would have to contend with being stuck with her father no matter her age.
