Ice Tracy Marrow Jr.'s Parents Were Never Married

Ice T met Little Ice's mother in 1984 while he was filming "Breakin'." The rapper approached her and asked her to be on his album cover even though he didn't even have a recording deal yet. Ortiz reminisced:

"I was a kid in high school. It was interesting that he said he was gonna do it. Everything he said he was gonna do, he ended up doing."

The couple became inseparable, and Ortiz was in every one of the rapper's album covers and all his videos; they were together for seventeen years, and the relationship ended in 2001 when Little Ice was eight years old.

Little Ice's greatest fan is his mother, who raised him in Los Angeles because his father, who became part of the "Law&Order: Special Victims' Unit" cast in 2000 alongside Mariska Hargitay, moved to New York. Little Ice's mom said proudly:

"I couldn’t even think of anybody that can top his dad, but he is so much more than his dad. Ice would take up anything and master it. But this one? His little seed, this kid. It’s been so entertaining. He does everything: flies planes, plays poker, golf."

Despite their break up, Little Ice's mother and father remained friends and loving co-parents. The young rapper has been seen on several red-carpet occasions with his father and his wife, Coco Austin, indicating a friendly relationship with his stepmother.

Ice-T's Son Had Legal Issues but Overcame Them

The separation between his parents might have been amicable, but it hit Little Ice hard. The then-eight-year-old missed his father, who had moved to the East Coast to further his acting career. Little Ice and his mother remained in the rapper's $2.5 million L.A. home.

Little Ice got into trouble for not paying speeding tickets as a young man. He was arrested but bailed out and had to pay a $10,000 fine. It was the young rapper's only run-in with the law.

His father, however, admitted that he had been involved in criminal activity as a young man after he left the army and narrowly escaped going to jail. The rapper has spoken about his past and the poverty that drove him to crime.
