Canadian-born T.V. star Stana Katic became fully committed to pursuing an acting career after graduating from high school in 1996. She subsequently enrolled and studied at the University of Toronto before moving to the DePaul University Goodman School of Drama in 2000.

Her best-known T.V. credit comes from the long-standing crime show, "Castle," portraying the beloved character Kate Beckett. She starred alongside Nathan Fillion, who played her love interest and later her husband, Richard Castle.
And while die-hard fans of the show were all for the endearing chemistry between Kate and Richard, her real-life romance remained shrouded in mystery. That was until her husband, Kris Brkljač, came to be known in the mid-2010s.

Stana Katic Is a Married Woman: Get To Know Her Husband, Kris Brkljač
Katic, of Croatian and Serbian descent, secretly tied the knot with Brkljač on the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia. It was in 2015, and the ceremony took place in a private family monastery. Following their nuptials, the couple revealed their wedding bands to the public.
It's unclear when their romance began, but according to Katic's representative, who confirmed the wedding details, she and Brkljač had been lovers for years before taking the next step in their relationship.
And since revealing their marriage in 2015, they've been notoriously private about their family life. The same goes for Katic's husband. Still, there's a Crunchbase profile in his name that shares some details about his career.
According to the bio, Brkljač was born in Sydney, Australia. He relocated to the U.S. with experience in Communication Media Law, yet by the time he was 21, he was living homeless on the streets of New York.
In the five years that followed, Brkljač turned his life around, developing and selling his first company. He then worked as an independent business consultant before moving to a different field: credit repair. As of this writing, he's working as the L.A.-based VP of Sales at DisputeSuite.

Stana Katic and Kris Brkljač Recently Welcomed Their First Child
In June last year, Katic shared a touching Father's Day tribute to her husband, subtly announcing that she and Brkljač were new parents. Alongside a short thread of their pictures, she said "joining forces" with Brkljač was the best decision she ever made before concluding:
"We love you and are so glad we get to share this life together."
Katic's representative confirmed with U.S. Weekly that the couple welcomed their newborn sometime last Winter. However, they've kept the little one's name and gender to themselves while enjoying being a private family of three.
Stana Katic's Real-Life Relationship with Nathan Fillion Was Not at All like Their Onscreen Romance
At least as far as many unnamed insiders have reported. They alleged that co-stars Katic and Fillion, who previously dated Christina Olchoa, couldn't stand each other on set and never spoke unless it was to say their lines.
Fillion was reportedly unkind to Katic, leading to frequent private breakdowns for the actress in her dressing room. These rumors surfaced after Katic's abrupt exit from "Castle" in 2016. Less than a month later, the show was canceled.
Neither Katic nor Fillion, who later joined "The Rookie" alongside Eric Winter, addressed the rumors, but they both publicly expressed gratitude for their fans and years working on the series. In 2018, however, Katic confessed that her exit "hurt" and was a "harsh" ending.
