Although the exact period when their relationship began is unknown, they were already together in high school, albeit in different high schools. They are both from Kentucky and attended the University of Cincinnati, where Desmond was a star athlete studying sports administration while Claire pursued pre-law.

Although the family essentially keeps their private life out of the media, Claire is very active on social media, posting general updates about their life and adventures. The couple had their first child in 2021 before they tied the knot in 2022. The new baby and her mother are Desmond's biggest fans and rarely miss a game.

Desmond and Claire Have Been Together since High School

Desmond and Claire are high school sweethearts, and their relationship probably started in high school, with both finding their origins in Kentucky. Claire's Instagram account has memories from both of their high school graduations.

They attended each other's graduation, which seemed to have held two days apart. The then-teenagers went to different high schools. Claire attended Assumption High School, while Desmond was enrolled at Saint Xavier High School.

Claire thanked her high school for giving her the best years in her graduation post. Although she was proud of Desmond for concluding his studies, she lamented their forthcoming separation saying, "so so proud of this guy, not ready for you to leave me in 13 days (sic)."

Desmond and Claire Welcomed a Daughter before Getting Married

On November 2, 2020, Desmond and Claire announced on their social media accounts that they were expecting a baby girl. They expressed much excitement at the prospect and even had a gender reveal occasion in a stadium.

On March 13, 2021, Claire and Desmond held a baby shower as they made the final preparations before they became parents. Just over a month later, Leighton Elizabeth Ridder was born, and Claire felt like they couldn't be more in love as the baby was everything they had ever dreamed of and more. Desmond also said:

"Everyone, please welcome Daddy's little princess and my pride and joy, Leighton Elizabeth Ridder, to this wonderful world… You are loved to the moon and back."

"So glad I finally get to call you my Wife! It was a fun weekend filled with Love, Family, and Lots of Happiness!! So excited for our family to start this new journey and chapter in our lives, I love you forever and always 7/15/22."

Claire Is Her Husband’s Biggest Fan

One of the constant sights at the Atlanta Falcons games is their quarterback's wife, Claire. She is mainly seen in the stands, cheering for her husband and usually with her daughter in her arms.

Desmond was drafted by the Falcons, a team with legendary names the likes of Kroy Biermann and Deion Sanders, in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft. He was rated as the fourth-best quarterback in the draft and got the starting spot in the team in the later part of his first season.

However, even before he began starting in the NFL, Claire was always there supporting him. In 2018, while they were still in college and Desmond was starting for the University of Cincinnati, she noted that she would forever be his number one fan.

For Claire, the sport is more than just a game. Admittedly, in 2021, she noted that she had come a long way from someone who knew nothing about football a few years ago.
