Malia Obama Is Spotted in Rare behind the Scene Pic from ‘Swarm’ Where She Wrote ‘One of the Wildest’ Episodes
Malia Obama has been making notable moves in the entertainment industry, debuting her TV writing skills on Donald Glover's Amazon Prime show, "Swarm." The former first daughter, whose work ethic promises a prosperous future, recently appeared in an adorable selfie with her colleagues.
In a recent Instagram update, Loni Love shared a behind-the-scenes photo of Malia Obama with "Swarm" co-stars Chloe Bailey and Dominique Fishback. Obama, whose appearance on social media has been rare, smiled wide with her eyes closed, sporting a blue-and-white striped golf tee.
The selfie appeared to have been taken on a whim, as she held a half-worn face mask while hanging on to a tote bag slung on her shoulder with the same hand. Donning a pink knitted top, Bailey leaned on Obama as she pouted and held up the peace sign. Fishback smiled below the two with her hair styled in bangs and pigtails.
Obama was recruited by Donald Glover, the co-creator of "Swarm," to join the show's writing team. He revealed the big news in March 2022, and the musician had only good things to say about her. He expressed his admiration for how dedicated she was to her craft, saying she was "amazingly talented."
With her strong work ethic, Glover added that Obama had a "great" writing style and felt she had a promising future, saying she would have "really good things" coming soon. Moreover, the young woman already has credits for writing her own episode in "Swarm."

While Staying Low-Key, Malia Obama Is Showered with Praises by Her Colleagues
Before joining the "Swarm" team, Obama gained some TV experience interning on the set of HBO's "Girls." She also worked as a production assistant on Halle Berry's "Extant," and while showcasing her skills on "Swarm," Obama's writing ideas have been nothing short of "wild." As co-creator Janine Nabers commented on one of her episodes, "Girl Bye," she said:
"['Girl, Bye'] is probably one of the wildest episodes. I think it's going to surprise a lot of people. It's pretty dope. I'm really proud of it."

Nabers also spoke of how easily Obama jelled into the group, making a warm impression on her colleagues. Fishback, the show's leading star, said it was "nice to know" Obama would be working on the series, and it was "pretty cool" to meet her.
Bailey had already been acquainted with the former first daughter—who shares an apartment with her sister, Sasha—and said it was "really fun" to be collaborating with her. The "Mercy" songstress said she had always considered Obama as family, so watching the young writer make her mark in the industry also filled her with pride.
