Samantha Hanratty shared a post on social media yesterday. In the two-picture Instagram post, Samantha was seated before a grey background, wearing grey sweats and a long sleeve white T-shirt.

Not only is her hair and makeup cute, but she also seems to have a new furry friend who has captured the hearts of her many followers in the comment section.

Samantha wrote in the caption announcing her new friend, "Welcome to the family Olive♥️ we rescued our little girl yesterday from @bigloveanimalrescue, and I couldn't be happier!" The organization, Big Love Animal Rescue, cited by Samantha in the caption, also commented under her post.

The animal rescue company expressed their excitement for Olive finding a new home in the hands of Samantha and her fiancé, Christian DeAnda. The admin of the organization's Instagram page continued to thank Hanratty for taking Olive in. "Thank YOU! I love you guys," Hanratty responded.

The amount of pets parented by the actress is unconfirmed. However, she has previously posted a selfie with a grey and white coated dog named Kota, who she calls "the best travel buddy." She also posted a picture of herself with another dog, sadly mourning its life in the caption, saying heaven gained the cutest angel.

Among the gigs in her impressively long list of acting jobs, Hanratty is well known for appearing as the teenage version of Mark Hampton's wife, Christina Ricci's character, Misty, in the TV series "Yellowjackets." The series is about a girls' soccer team that survived a plane crash only to face new turmoil in the Canadian Wilderness.

Hanratty is so proud of her character in the hit Showtime series that it is the only role mentioned in her Instagram bio. She wrote, "That girl you hated on that one show you love," before directing the reader to the "Yellowjackets" Instagram page.

Upon discovering she would be playing a younger version of Ricci, Hanratty said she looked up pictures of the senior actress to spot the similarities between her appearance and Ricci's.

However, playing the role was difficult for the actress as she told Hollywood Reporter that she began taking antidepressants while filming the show's first season. She had been dealing with anxiety but without the need for antidepressants.

She revealed that she relates to her character's desire to be liked by people. Furthermore, Hanratty empathizes with Misty's mentally unstable nature and sees her as a wounded puppy that bites due to a lack of love.

Hanratty began acting in 2005 when she was cast as Adele in the TV series "Passions." She went on to work on many projects, credited with 61 acting gigs to date. She starred in "Zoe Gone" in 2014 and appeared in three episodes of "The Vampire Diaries," starring engaged actress Kat Graham.

Her long list of collaborators includes 61-year-old actor Jim Carrey, retired actress Robin Wright, and Cuba Gooding Jr. She is also the younger sibling of Ash Hanratty, who works behind the scenes in Hollywood, and Danielle Hanratty, who she worked alongside in "The Unit."
