Peter Paul Loughran Battled for Custody of Son He Shares with Lena Headey
Peter Paul Loughran's love story with actress Lena Headey began with love at first sight, but by its end, he was left "penniless." The former couple had been together for about five years when Lena filed for divorce and a tumultuous legal battle ensued.
Peter Paul Loughran was part of the entertainment industry like his ex-wife. Though little is known about his background, apart from his Irish roots, his LinkedIn profile revealed that he graduated with a Business Administration and Management degree from St. Aloysius College.
He ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing enterprises such as Peter Paul Inc. and Peter Paul Hair in pursuit of his core passions spanning hair, music, and fashion. But apart from actively building a career, though things fell by the wayside eventually, Loughran also settled down. He became a husband and father to actress Lena Headey and their son.
It Was Love at First Sight for Peter Loughran and Lena Headey
Though it's unclear when their first encounter occurred, Loughran and Headey met when they attended a mutual friend's wedding. The two shared "a little dance," as Headey once recalled, and their romance began not long after. The actress said it was "pretty serious" from the beginning, adding:
"This is the most healthy, beautiful thing that has happened to me."
Headey is best known for her role as Queen Cersei in the fantasy drama "Game of Thrones." She's also noted for her parts in "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" alongside Lily Collins (who married Charlie McDowell) and Jamie Campbell Bower, "The Purge," "Dredd," and the "300" film franchise. She tied the knot with Loughran in May 2007 and welcomed their only child, Wylie Elliot Loughran, in March 2010.
Peter Paul Loughran Battled with Lena Headey in Court
Headey filed for divorce in July 2012. She cited irreconcilable differences in the court documents, revealing that she and Loughran had separated the year before in May. The Hollywood star requested physical and joint custody of Wylie. During the proceedings, Loughran and Headey's individual financial situations became dire.
There was a $46,000 tax refund they were due to receive, and Loughran reportedly demanded half of it. As she struggled to make ends meet for herself and her son, Headey also requested a $6000 advance. Both requests were tossed, and the legal battle stretched until 2013 when they finally reached a settlement, which included joint custody of their child.

Still, the exes were back in court in 2016 after Headey moved with Wylie to the U.K. Loughran filed an emergency order against this, claiming it violated his and Headey's custody agreement. The motion was rejected as it didn't meet all the requirements to qualify as an emergency order, and Loughran had to wait over a month before he argued his case.
Reflecting on the experience, Headey said that despite the anguish it caused, she managed to handle her divorce, not with bitterness or anger, but with grace. It was a conscious decision because she wanted her son to look back and be proud of her one day.
Peter Paul Loughran Was Busking after the Divorce
Years after their divorce, in 2018, Loughran was busking in Leeds, England. A source close to the musician said he couldn't make ends meet as a hairdresser, and it's why he started singing for money. Loughran established the musical project Anchor Jack in 2015, but it appears it hasn't generated much revenue.
The source added that his friends were worried about him and had launched a Go Fund Me to help raise funds for their friend. He also had support from his girlfriend at the time, model Maga Suki, who helped him cope. In August 2018, police stopped him as he busked outside Buckingham Palace, supporting the Fathers4Justice campaign.
Loughran explained that he was protesting against family courts under royal rule. He believed they were responsible for the hundreds of children who lost contact with their fathers following legal proceedings. However, as of now, the state of his relationship with his ex-wife and son remains unknown.
