Erin Murphy was two years old when she joined "Bewitched" as Tabitha Stephens in the third season alongside her fraternal twin sister, Diane. The producers auditioned sets of twins for the role due to child labor laws restricting the time a minor could be on set.

After Erin and her sister got the part, it was evident that she loved the spotlight more than Diane. She was used for the major scenes and all the close-ups, while Diane appeared in the cutaways and long shots.

Erin confessed she loved the limelight from the time she was a baby as she enjoyed being on set. However, Diane would cry when she was brought on set; even when she was older, she still hated it.

Erin was on the show for six seasons when the show played from 1964 until 1972. When it concluded, she partook in modeling and several commercials and auditioned alongside other child actors like Helen Hunt and Jodie Foster.

However, she turned down many offers when her family moved to Orange County from Los Angeles when she was in grade six. During that period, she got to be an average child, was a cheerleader, and got to be homecoming queen.

Erin later said she thought she had the "best of both worlds." When asked in 2016 if she had memories of working on "Bewitched," Diane's sister said the experience was fun and wonderful with her encountering various animals like monkeys and elephants.

The actress felt it was a fun place to grow up in and had fond memories of her relationships with other actors. After being together for many years, Erin said they started feeling like family and treated her as such.

Growing up with one sibling, the star said she thought "The Brady Bunch" was the most incredible show and always wanted a big family. However, what was ideal for her was two children - a baby boy and a girl.

Despite her wish for only two children, Erin ended up with six children and, unfortunately, no girls. What the celebrity also didn't anticipate was that she would be raising an autistic child.

On November 4, 1984, Erin married her first husband, Terry Rogers, and they welcomed two boys before their marriage ended in divorce in 1989. The star moved on to her second husband, Eric Eden, in 1993, but they divorced in 1998 after having one son together.

Then in May 1998, she married her current husband, Darren Dunckel, and they welcomed three more boys together. Ironically, Erin's husband had the same name as her onscreen father on "Bewitched," but his name was spelled "Darrin."

Despite wanting two children, the actress ended up with six, including Jason, born in 1985; Grant, born in 1988; Clark, born in 1995; and Dylan, born in 1999. The star was a parent of six by August 2004.

When she had her first child at 21, she taught acting while living on an Arizona ranch. The celebrity got film shoot calls whenever they were in her town, and she began taking jobs in makeup and production.

Erin once worked as a photo and stunt double for Melissa Leo and Virginia Madsen. After moving back to Los Angeles, Diane's sister actively returned to work doing product endorsements and infomercials, hosting reality shows, and acting as a celebrity judge.

During that time, she remained a hands-on and full-time parent to her children. In 2020, the actress described herself as "eternally optimistic" as she liked seeing the positive side of things in her life as curveballs were continuously thrown at her.

Erin even taught her children that they couldn't control what happened in life or how others acted but had control over how they behaved. The celebrity noted how some parents imposed their own choices on their offspring, or they could see what their children were into and encourage them to live their lives.

The actress said that's what she did with her sons, who were all different from each other. The mother of six revealed that all her children were exceptional before adding, "I'm committed to being a parent."

When asked about parenting six children, Erin said it was fun but "a crazy" lifestyle. The star was asked why she had so many children, and she revealed that people always asked if she was a Mormon.

Erin shared that if she had a baby girl, maybe she would've stopped having more children when she had three, but that wouldn't change anything. The celebrity said none of her children were yet following in her career footsteps.

She noted how she was one child actor who enjoyed the experience and the great things that happened in her life because of it. The actress said if her children were interested, she'd encourage, assist, and guide them, but she was keen on supporting any of their passions, and she was raising one of her children differently.

How Does Erin Raise Her Autistic Son?

Erin once confessed that most of her time was taken up by caring for her autistic son, Parker, but she had no complaints and felt life was great. The mother of six said she'd been involved with children's charities throughout her life.

Her involvement with autism events happened before her son was born, and once he was diagnosed, that became her focus. The actress went to board meetings, volunteered, and spoke at events while noting the importance of being there for other parents with questions.

Erin felt autism was a disorder that had become prevalent. In 2019, the star shared an image of her and Parker at Zuma Beach, where she had taken him for surf therapy, and in August 2020, she uploaded a picture of her in Malibu, California.

The devoted celebrity explained that she and Parker went surfing with a friend he'd met at the surf camp every Sunday, and the outing had changed his life. In April 2023, Erin, then 58, shared an upside-down photo of her autistic son and shared the difference between acceptance and awareness.

On the image of her son, the actress revealed that she loved someone with autism. The proud star also explained that she spent her life ensuring her son was "happy & safe."
