The love in the first image feels so authentic one does a double take to realize that a tattooed Ryan Gosling is in character as Luke holding their movie baby. At the same time, Eva Mendes' Romina smiles adoringly at the infant with Ryan's free arm draped over her shoulders.

The actress wrote in the April 5, 2023 caption that her "socia" (Spanish for partner), producer Sandra Condito, just sent her the nostalgic snaps to mark the 10th anniversary of the film's release, concluding, "Feels like lifetimes ago."

A month after meeting on the set of "The Place Beyond the Pines," Eva and Ryan were clocked by the paparazzi at Disney California Adventure Park holding hands in September 2011, eating cotton candy and enjoying the rides. The pair have collaborated on more projects over the years.

Adding to the mystery, the "Hitch" star called Ryan Gosling her husband.

At 40, Eva had their firstborn, Esmeralda Amada Gosling, on September 12, 2014. She admitted in a 2020 radio interview that she did not have the desire to become a mom until she fell in love with Ryan. Esmeralda became a big sister to Amada Lee Gosling on April 29, 2016.

The reason Eva leaves the cooking to Ryan is not just because it's not her forte. The businesswoman told Forbes that she hopes it shows her daughters "that there are no gender-specific roles" and that everyone in the household, including the girls, are "partners in this:"

"It's a team effort every day, so if they see him and I switching off doing certain things that again aren't specific to stereotypical gender things, I think that just creates balance and harmony."

The couple speaks lovingly about each other in interviews without giving too much about their private lives and is hardly ever photographed together. Adding to the mystery, the "Hitch" star called Ryan Gosling her husband on an Australian morning show on November 18, 2022.

Going on "The Talk" in 2022, Eva Mendes admitted that she was also taken by the 'thirst trap' first photo of her partner as 'Ken' for the "Barbie" movie. She claimed to be wearing the underwear from that viral photo during the taping.
