The young model paired her mini-skirt with a long-sleeved sheer shirt and loafers and tied the whole look together with silver jewelry and a belt and bag that had silver detailing. "Manifesting," she captioned the post, which received nearly 80, 000 likes at the time of publication.

Zaya's make-shift photoshoot came a month after she made her runway debut for Miu Miu. Zaya also gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her debut, including a sweet moment between her and her father as the two embraced.

As an activist and beauty icon for many girls of color, Gabrielle has taught her stepdaughter many lessons about beauty over the years. However, during an interview, Zaya revealed that one of the recent lessons her stepmother passed down to her was self-love. She said:

"She tries to teach me that beauty standards are arbitrary and that they don't mean anything. They don't matter anymore; what people thought was the standard is not. And just that being myself is the best technique out there."

The model has not only had the support of her stepmother, but she has also had the support of her whole family. While she had made waves as a transgender model, the teenager revealed she feels the most empowered when her family rallies behind her. As for the work she's done for the LGBTQ+ community, Zaya Wade shared that she sees herself as a microphone for other community youths who go unrecognized.
