Marlo Thomas Poses with Her Dog Charlie on National Pet Day: 'Phil Took This of Us'

Marlo Thomas loves dogs, more so her dear friend Charlie who she publishes on her social media and is featured in major publications like The NY Post. The actress has owned various breeds of dogs over the years, including three Golden Retrievers with her husband.

On April 11, actress Marlo Thomas shared a sweet selfie celebrating a holiday that is meaningful to her. She posted a picture with her dog, Charlie, which surpassed 2,600 likes within the first day of publishing.

In the selfie, we see the "That Girl" star beaming behind her dog while she embraces him with a comforting hold around his neck. She sported a grey graphic T-shirt and blue jeans in her living room.

Thomas loves canine companions, and her caption revealed just how much of a dog mom she is. She wrote:

"Today is #NationalPetDay, so you know I have to share a photo of Charlie! Phil took this of us! Ever since we were kids Terre, Tony and I have had dogs, some two at a time."

The actress loves her little Charlie and has shared pictures of him in the past. She shared a throwback image of Charlie's puppy days on National Puppy Day in March. When the photo was taken, the dog was ten weeks old and had just begun living with Thomas.

Another occasion Thomas shared a picture of her Charlie was on February 21, when she celebrated him on National Walking The Dog Day.

Charlie was initially announced as a member of Thomas's family in August 2021 when she tweeted a photo of herself and the dog looking cozy on a summer day. "August is #NationalDogMonth! We are celebrating with the newest addition to our family. Here's Charlie! We love Goldens!" she wrote.

The "That Girl" star continued, inquiring about new canines in her followers' families. Thomas has lived a golden life in many ways and is still beaming at 85. Her dog has recently been involved in her stardom, featuring in a NY Times photo with the actress.

Even when he is not posing for the professional cameras of the New York publication, Charlie gets all the love at home. Every morning Thomas hugs her husband of nearly 43 years, Phil Donahue, and Charlie. She revealed their morning routine in a January 2022 tweet.

Thomas has a Youtube channel where she shares niche content with thousands of subscribers. She once shared a video about her family and their fondness for dogs. In the video, the actress unpacked the different breeds of canines she has lived with.

In the video, Thomas reveals that her family owned a Boxer, a couple of Cocker Spaniels, and a Chihuahua growing up. Later in life, she had a Shih Tzu and a Yorkshire Terrier before owning three Golden Retrievers with her husband, Donahue.
