However, the 85-year-old was happy with the success that he had built and did not feel the need to work until death. But the actor felt he lost his cool around the ladies as he got older.
He admitted that much of his life as an actor was attracting as many women as possible; at some point, he even felt irresistible to women. But with age, he has become less of a magnet.

When it comes to his career strides, Nicholson could not be more proud. He said, "I've had everything a man could ask for, but I don't know if anyone could say I'm successful with affairs of the heart."
Although his one regret is not having a lasting romantic relationship, the three-time Oscar winner admitted that he was unrealistic about finding a partner.

How Did the Mom of His Kids "Abandon" Him?
When Nicholson was 56, his 31-year-old girlfriend, Rebecca Broussard, the mother of his youngest two children, left him. It was rumored that Broussard had left the "Batman" star for a younger man, but he did not see the breakup coming, which hit hard.

When Nicholson heard, he had just wrapped up several projects he was working on, such as "The Two Jakes," "Man Trouble," and "A Few Good Men."
The actor said he did not know who the new man was, but he admitted that the whole thing made him feel alone. "You're left. You're abandoned. And you'll not be over it for another year," he candidly expressed.

On the contrary, Broussard did not want to say much about her split from Nicholson. She admitted that there was another special person in her life, but he was not the reason behind her break up with "The Departed" star.

Having a good relationship with their mother has influenced his children, but he said he wants to inspire them without putting too much pressure.
One of the fatherly responsibilities he enjoyed was reading to his kids before bed, which he did from a young age. But he did admit that he has included them in less exciting activities like the opera and ballet, luckily they enjoy watching basketball games with him.

Nicholson also said his children were comfortable with showbusiness and loved being on set, "they are good set rats," he said. The actor's children are older now; Ray is 31, and Lorraine is 32.
He remembered taking Lorraine on a college tour and longing to spend more time with her. He would ask how her day at school was, but most questions were unanswered.

Eventually, he realized that teenagers did not like to hang out with their parents, and he had to let go of those aspects of parenting to let his children do their thing.
As for his boy Ray, Nicholson revealed that he gave up a summer holiday to France to get in shape for the varsity football team.
Fortunately, Ray made it and became the youngest on the team. Even after breaking his collarbone, he still woke up at 06:00 a.m. to train daily.
