Her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, who was her prom date, was supportive as he was seen helping her get into the carriage.

Before Alana Thompson and her boyfriend left for the prom, she took family photos with her mother, Mama June Shannon. Thompson's mother expressed her excitement and said she was proud of her daughter and how everything turned out.

The prom went down over the weekend in Georgia, with Thompson arriving with Carswell in a white and pink carriage decorated to match Thompson's outfit.

Based on Carswell's Facebook page, the two went public about their relationship on March 29, 2021. In 2022, the lovebirds sparked engagement rumors after Thomspon was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand, but she shut down the speculations. Thompson's representative said that the ring was just a regular accessory.

However, a different report indicated that the ring was front and center in every picture, but it had since turned into another piece of jewelry. The pair have been going strong since they began their relationship, and Thompson once revealed that Carswell is her only friend.

Despite facing constant criticism concerning their age difference, Thompson said people's opinions about their relationship didn't bother her as long as her sister and mom approved of their relationship. Carswell is four years her senior.
